I really want them all but I feel as though 1 and 2 are enough for me but I’ll hold out and hopefully V and Balboa get released in another set or round of Steelbooks.

In fairness, Rocky V was written by the same guy who sold the entire Rocky IP.

I've never seen any of the Rocky movies past the second one I have to admit.

I'm tempted to get the iTunes 4K DV releases of II-IV (have had the first one on iTunes for ages - but I remember it being 4K SDR when I bought it, maybe I'm wrong but I feel like that one getting DV is relatively new). But yeah they're only $6.99 CAD each. Not bad at all.

But yeah, kind of wanna see how I feel about the other films in the franchise before I decide to buy a box set, as well as the fact that there's a big possibility they eventually release another box set with all the films.

I've only seen Rocky 1 & 4, strangely enough. Saw Rocky IV with my brothers when I was a kid, then I finally saw the original around the time of Creed II with the intention of watching the lot of them, but that never happened.

I have the faintest memory as a kid of seeing the first movie at our small, local 'dollar show' which used to get worn film prints after they did the larger theater runs. The other movies I remember more on cable as I got older.

If you compare the Superman 4K Box Set and the Rocky 4K box set its quite clear that the Rocky set is a cash-in and not a finished product. Superman got a nice box, some nice steels, some swag, and the complete Reeve series / the complete OG Superman quadrilogy.

More effort will be expended on the title that's going to sell more copies. Not hard to figure out.

I am surprised V and Balboa aren't in here though...kind of puzzling, unless they need a 4K master and they weren't available (and MGM didn't want to pay to do so).

I got the first four movies on iTunes. I am going to wait for all 6 movies to be released in a box set before buying them on disc. I hate having incomplete box sets.

It’s not about stock, it depends what glass master they pull. It’d be nice to know for sure which disc is in the standalone release though, yeah.

That's true. But unless they make some error there's no way they are using the MPEG-2 encode at this point in time.

Given that Warners UK included a new pressing of the old VC-1 Dolby Digital 5.1 Blu-ray of Superman the Movie with the UK UHD, nothing would surprise me any more!
