I saw the Zapp post and thought, "that's not how you spell Daily short for dailywhitty", what a dopey typpo. And looking at a post above realized it's not dailywhitty, it's dallywhitty. Started watching this last week and for the record 1 & 2 have always been my favorite and had seen both in the theater in elementary school . I don't think either have looked or sounded better (using the new remix audio on my atmos system}.
Watched 3 for the 1st time in over 15 years and have to say I enjoyed it way more than in the past and it looked stelar ! Started 4 after 3 yesterday but got to tired and had to get some sleep before work . Gonna finish it when I get home (watching the DC} 1st and liking the tone of this cut already . Noticed disc 4 was smeared with oil worse than I have ever seen and disc 3 to a lesser extent , luckily seen and cleaned both before inserting . Pretty happy with this set and haven't enjoyed these movies more .

Good comparison. :-) This is really a none issue for me, since the only time I really react to a thing like this is in a direct comparison.

I will request replacement discs if they decide to offer that, or I'll will buy a correct boxset (same or with more movies from the series) if it comes along.

For now, I'll keep the 4K boxset. It's real easy to sell used movies where I live, so that'll be no issue whatsoever.

I still think this is a disrespectful way to treat these movies, but it is what it is. :-/

I thought the opposite. The song sounded off even without comparison, and you could hear that even the ring bell had the wrong pitch. But sensitivity to pitch is quite subjective. It is also ironically a mockup from the film (pt III) that didn't have a problem with the English track.

In any case, I will hold off buying this until I hear about a replacement. Too bad since I was really looking forward to this set and the video seems to have been treated rather well.

Chances are a "complete" box will silently fix this crap. For Mad Max 2 & 3, it was easier for me to get the fixed anthology than to dance around with WB on the single releases. Oh well. :-/

Oh man I just bought this set, but didn't remove the plastic yet. I think I am going to return it. The audio issues from the review and the many negative responses in this thread pretty much sealed the deal for me. Besides I want a set with all the included Rocky movies(5 & Balboa). This is really a big disappointment. The associate at Best Buy warned me not to remove the plastic if I plan on returning it. I'm guessing Best Buy was experiencing a high return rate on this box set for her to say that.

I watched the first movie last night. After wiping off a bit of that case residue on the disc, I gave it a spin. The transfer is rather good all things considered (definitely a nice improvement from the remastered BD as one would hope), but the encoding is not that great. In some of the bright sky shots it's more apparent as was noted from someone else. But even through other parts of the film the grain doesn't have that more fluid, tight moving look and can look a little bit digital as a result. It's not horrendous by any means (although in one quick moment of a scene it is), but pretty mediocre IMO yet surely will not be noticed in many cases. I did listen to the accompanying 'remastered' audio and wasn't impressed with it. Some of the dialogue wasn't that clear and it had other problems. All in all, yes, this is the best the film has looked by far and it really is a damn good movie.
