The movies will stay pretty consistent in price. The studios have no reason to take a loss like Toshiba that makes some of it up in licensing fees, and movie royalties. People who buy Vizio hdtvs aren't concerned with best possible picture, nor are they willing to spend the money for hi-def movies.
Hi-def is a videophile market and will not see much action by spend thrifty types.

Default I agree with the poster

The common consumer doesn't care if what they're seeing is Full 1080p. Heck, most of the TV's BB and CC are selling are only 720p.

I think they would benefit a lot from putting out a sub $300 player for the holidays. Maybe package one with Spidey 3?!

Not a bad idea. They'd probably movie quite a few players.

cheap player = cheap product = UNFULFILLING EXPERIANCE. In this case, no 1080p/24. and no uncompressed sound along with that.

At this point in time, the common consumer doesn't care if they're seeing HD at all...I think people put too much attention into average Joe, when average Joe isn't going to be buying either format in the tens of millions regardless.

We're just not there yet.
