I haven't yet experimented with the upscaling DVD ability of this unit, as I primarily bought this as a CD/SACD player. It took me a while to perfect the settings on this unit for CD/SACD playback, but I think most of that stemmed from some handshake issues between it and my Yamaha HTR-6190B. Some of those issues are still there, but dobyblue suggested that I look into checking on a firmware and DSP upgrade from Yamaha. I will do that tomorrow. (There were none when I checked on this several months ago).

John, does this do well with your CDs and SACDs? I need a CD player and after reading your post and the Oppo website, for $169 shipped, I'm thinking it may be a great way to go. What were the issues you were having?
