I think King Records should have released a Japanese 4K UHD of Halloween. So fans in Japan can watch the film in native 4K Dolby Vision while having Japanese subtitles or a dub. |

I just now ran a BDInfo scan on my personal copy of the 2-disc 3.0+1.11 Blu-ray release. Its video bitrate is relatively low by JP Rebuild standards, but then again the film is 40+ minutes longer than its predecessors and its 2.35:1 aspect ratio is a mitigating factor.
It would've been nice if Khara would've used lossless compression to reduce the audio bitrate to compensate for disc size limiations instead of wasting bits on 24-bit LPCM though, but they've always made odd decisions on that front dating back to 1.11 and 2.22 both having redundant DTS-HD MA 6.1 and Dolby TrueHD 6.1 tracks on their respective discs. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Really digging the Amazon JP slipcase. Their packaging as always is loads better than the Amazon US which I know they would have shipped this in a bubble mailer! |

Set the Zidoo to SDR BT.2020 output manually (and I have to verify this, because it had gone back to the Auto setting for HDR, after I'd set it to SDR BT.709 manually the other day) and it seems to output a signal that's identical to the SDR BT.2020 the Panasonic DP-UB820 just outputs by default. Obviously, the Panny is smarter than the Zidoo at this stuff. So that's done, for now at least. The Zidoo needs an update to correct the fact that it automatically thinks that BT.2020 is also HDR. |

Still waiting on my copy from amazon JP to be delivered to my US address, it's currently scheduled for delivery on Tuesday.
Guess they're near-worthless for BDs now if they make you wait 2 weeks instead of 1-2 days like before, in addition to most releases no longer shipping overseas after preorders are over. |

How's the movie look in 4K? I can't wait to get the boxset when it's available. I really wish they would include English subs on the release. RI Last edited by RIKANA; 03-16-2023 at 01:18 AM. |

It been a bit sence I posted, and I'm not sure I even know where to do the spoilers... Sorry in advance. RI |

That case contains five character art postcards, which along with a custom slipbox make up Amazon Japan's exclusive 3.0+1.11 bonus items.

edit sorry realised this probably should have gone in anime questions that dont deserve their own thread thread i can delete and repost there if needed/better so i'm obsessed with going to the cinema at the moment, trying to see what i can whenever i can for anything that interests me, and end of evangelion is getting a screening in my city on a date when i'm out of town...i never finished the series when i started it years ago but got it on BD with the intention of doing a proper watch through at some point...now i'm tempted to run through it in 10ish days before i have to leave town, and then book train tickets to make it to the screening back in my city and then duck back out of town to where i'm supposed to be...no idea when another screening might come along, (maybe in a few years when it'd be 30th anniversary?) any one have input whether this would be a crazy idea? i assume its perfectly do-able to watch the 26 episodes in 10ish days but would it be better to take it slower and be able to digest it all properly rather than rush it? would it be worth seeing EoE in the cinema (i assume yes for anyone that likes the cinema) even with the 2-3hour journey time to get there..?? am i mad?! any input appreciated!
