I love a lot of the animation from the 50s-90s

Sadly, most people my age have never heard of most of the good ol cartoons.

I came across someone the other day who didn't know what The Flintstones was

I KNOW RIGHT!
I thought everyone knew the Flintstones regardless of age, from 10 to a 100

I then put on Hong Kong Phooey and she was like, what is this? it looks stupid

I asked what they thought was a funny cartoon....."Spongebob Squarepants"....I gave up after that

Great stuff there! I have all of 'em. Wish they could produce the full Warner catalogue.

Filmjunk is saying that Brett Ratner is set to produce

Quote:
With Raja Gosnell set to direct The Smurfs, a direct-to-DVD Scooby-Doo prequel on the way, and Robert Rodriguez still possibly doing a Jetsons movie, it was only a matter of time before someone else decided to jump on the Hanna-Barbera bandwagon. It appears that person is none other than Brett Ratner let the ranting begin!

According to Variety, Ratner will be producing a live-action/CG hybrid feature film based on the 70s animated series Hong Kong Phooey. For those who are too young to remember it (or for those who need their memories refreshed), the show revolves around a talking dog named Penrod Pooch who works as a police station janitor. When he hears about a crime in progress, he runs into a filing cabinet and transforms into Hong Kong Phooey, a superhero with mystical kung fu powers. The main character was voiced by Scatman Crothers.

The upcoming movie will be directed by Alex Zamm (Chairman of the Board, Inspector Gadget 2, Dr. Dolittle: Million Dollar Mutts) from a script written by David Goodman (Family Guy, Enterprise). On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the worst, and 10 being even worse than the worst), how bad will this be?

Much like what happened to 'Marvin the Martian', this is just test footage from what the film might have been. It's since been halted. I think when WB changed studio heads, a lot of these films went away with it. Maybe for the better...

So let me get this straight, the jokes in that trailer where:
  1. He hits himself in the balls with Numchucks (NEVER SEEN THAT ONE BEFORE!!!!11 LOLZ)
  2. He drinks out of a toilet (Again ORIGINAL)
  3. He then drinks out a urinal
  4. He then eats a urinal cleaner
  5. And the cat rolls it's eyes a lot

Truly this is going to be a film ahead of it's time. Move over Garfield, it looks like we've got a new greatest film ever about to hit the big screen!

EDIT: Oh it's never going to get made, WHAT A SHAME!!!!

Both this and the Marvin CGI-hybrid project killed at Warner by a fatal case of Yogi Bear.

he does a great job mimicking Eddie, but there are little tells in the voice that you can hear while he is speaking and realize its Mark and not Eddie.

and a little trivia Eddie and Mark are close friends also
