It's not that everyone thinks that this is necessarily a good-looking slip, it's just a huge improvement over the garbage they first produced.

I honestly don't know how anyone can look at both of those slipcovers and think the first one actually looked better. I could've done a better job in MS Paint. It was garbage.

And let me get this straight...you're passing on this release...because of the slipcover? I mean I hated the initial art that was gonna go on the slip, but I would've still bought it for the film itself.

I'll be tossing the slip and putting the disc in a black Blu-ray case with the old (original) poster art. Problem solved.

I don't mind the chosen art. It's not great, it's not bad. It's just another average slipcover on the shelf which is how I describe about 70% of them regardless of label (I don't mean that to sound like an insult, it's not).

I've never cared a bit for the original Final Exam poster. Always thought it was kinda goofy looking. Others seem to like it a lot and/or have nostalgia for it so it's just me. Including it untouched wouldn't notably improve anything for me personally, though it may have been more pleasing for the masses it seems.

There is something to be said for the uniqueness of that first slipcover design. It would at least be an unforgettable curiosity on the shelf whereas the current one (and original poster for me) just seem unremarkable in any way. So I suppose I mostly agree with Vincent.

As I mentioned before, Dark Force's hit rate on slipcover art for me overall is a lot higher than most other labels. So I can't complain when the occasional average one rolls around.

The best part about the slip is the top of the spine. Will be cool to have final exam guy visible even when disc is on the shelf.

The wrap on the 4K case is going to have the original poster art as well.

I just don't think the slipcover art should make or break a purchase for the film itself. The one they decided on doesn't look that bad. It's going to be turned sideways on most of our shelves and we barely ever look at it again once we've watched it a couple of times. I'm just happy they are diving into 4K in general

I don't think anyone is saying they are unwilling to buy the release at all because they don't like the slip.

Most just mean they are more likely to hold off for a cheaper standard edition without slip and/or good sale price before buying.
