"I Don't Want to Wait" was one of the bigger pop hits of the late 90s. You heard it everywhere and it was already popular on the radio and MTV several months before Dawson's Creek premiered. The lyrics fit the themes of the show perfectly.

Was sampling a little of this last night...it's pretty much what you would expect from Mill Creek. The encoding isn't the best but it's far from the worst they've done with Sony titles, especially of late.
The weird thing is why they devote so much space to the audio. Like the bit-rate for the video is usually in the 10-20 mbps range, while the 5.1 audio is ridiculously over the top at 3 mbps, and doesn't need that kind of space (at least this is the first disc I was sampling). For a show like this, allocating more resources to the video would help their compression out and the presentation as a whole, but I've seen this happen on other MC titles where it's like they put a priority on the audio for some odd reason and the transfer suffers instead. |

I hope I'm not saying anything wrong, but... If the audio is lossless, it will just take whatever space it needs to take, you can't really limit the bitrate of DTS-MA.
So there's not much that could be done there, except releasing with lossy audio. Or increasing the number of discs, of course. For a show like this, shot on film, it pains me to imagine that they squeezed up to 8 episodes on a single disc ... I hope down the line this gets a more generous release somewhere else. |

I got the set today and can confirm that the series finale is in 2 parts and not the extended cut. Total running time is just over 85 minutes. The commentary is there, but I haven't listened to it. It does seem to sync up at the end though.

It was the only extended episode.
A few episodes from S05-S06 had scenes cut on DVD due to music and I'm guessing those are also not part of this release. Quote:
- how they edited the commentary from the extended finale; - if the commentary tracks still have "Run Like Mad" in the background; - I specifically remember Paul Stupin mentioning in some episodes that "Run Like Mad" had to be used to cut costs, yada yada (in one of the season 3 commentaries, and possibly in Season 4 as well) |

I haven't seen a review that's confirmed one way or the other, besides that IDWTW has been restored across all seasons.

I can confirm the set is region B compatible. But unfortunately even though it is marked on the box that there are English subtitles, these do not work. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
