I have tried very hard to watch MGM+ A SPY AMONG FRIENDS' 1st episode on Amazon Prime.

The show's technical standards are so pathetic and garbage, the digital color grading alone ruined entire cinematography.

Imagine releasing this one or LOTR:TROP on 4K Discs. Do you really see any benefit? barely any.

Compare those two above to BB or LOST or MAD MEN (1st 4 seasons) or SUCCESSION shot of 35mm film, if later 4 are released on 4K disc with a brand new 4K scan, you'll see clearly better picture because on film grain stability aspect alone.

Remember one thing.....the difference between DVD PQ and BD PQ was clearly noticeable and improvement.....the difference between BD PQ and 4K UHD BD PQ was clearly noticeable and improvement......

same cannot be said anymore with assurance between streaming digitally shot, digitally graded 4K uploade streaming files and released 4K Disc media.
Sometimes, you're right in that shows wont benefit much from 4K. It does depend on the show though. Newer, modern sci-fi that had a good budget is worth it. But, I am rewatching the original Twin Peaks TV show and I assure you that it does NOT need the 4K treatment, LOL.

Overall, I am content with having my favorite TV shows on blu-ray if thats whats available. having an option for physical media is key here. Streaming only sucks if you really enjoy a show. I need to own it!
