Me too. Based on the prominence of an actress in the set photos and her absence in the trailer. Also based on Greta Gerwig and her past projects.

People don't understand the concept of camp. It's not camp if it's intentional. Same with Batman '66.

Ugh. Don't even compare him to Burton. He's what happens if you combine the Coens and Ivan Reitman, minus the charm.

If you replace the word beach for beat, which i think was the intention, then it's a hella funny scene. In that respect i hope that the tone it's going for and it's going for a chock full of ironic moments

Since the 60s Mattel has produced Barbie dolls with differing physical features and ethnicities, but they all weren’t called “Barbie”. They were friends of Barbie and had their own names like “Christie”, who was the first Black Barbie doll.

So it’s interesting in this movie, judging by the character posters and the trailer, that every woman is referred to as Barbie. Same goes for Ken.

I’m no Barbie expert, so someone correct me if I’m wrong.

There's the Emerald Fennell character who's called Midge, a Barbie doll who was pregnant:

So we may get more individual characters like that.

They're obviously holding something back, because that trailer really doesn't give any clue as to what the story might be about.

I mean, is it not obvious enough by this point that they're pulling a Lego Movie? What other way can this story possibly go it.

Why speculate? Let's find out in the movie.

I find this modern obsession with knowing how things will go down to be pointless (this is not a dig to either of you guys specifically, just a general observation).

Where's the garbage pale kids movie? That would be great. I never thought in a million years so much hype for a barbie movie would happen.

As for the Barbie hype. The trailers simply look good, and you can sense that there's a true vision for this by the filmmakers, instead of it just being a mindless IP cash grab.

Some mom is going to bring her daughter to see this and then sue Margot Robbie because she thought it was a kids movie.

I’m pretty sure it will be a family friendly movie. Maybe a soft PG-13, but I’m thinking it will be PG (like Gerwig’s last movie also)
