The KL disc uses a new 4K master from the original negative. Eureka claimed theirs would use the same master in all their pre-release promotions, but at the last minute, they removed that wording, and they used the ancient DVD-era HD master when they released their disc just weeks before Kino's. People wondered how they could have gained access to Kino's new master for a release that would pre-date it, and they were right to wonder, in the end.

Agree. I actually ended up selling my Eureka FGTC to get Kino's. One of the few times that Kino's BD was superior to an Eureka, imho
