It's very similar to the look of MVD's own Rewind Collection logo.

That aside, to go from the beautiful slips they were doing to having one with an advertisement on the front, I really hope not.

I'm guessing because Grindhouse Video is also a brick & mortar store... maybe they need to make sure the slips themselves don't get stolen... but that's still not great...

Yeah... and to me the shrink wrap over the slip is new to me with FCE... and not a welcome detail to be sure...

It's bad enough that Kino, Shout, and others do that now... but shrink wrap over a premium slip like that is atrocious. I can understand I guess since there are probably copies that may end up on a brick & mortar retail shelves... but I hope this doesn't become the case everywhere.

I wouldn't have received a more perfect Slipcover from a boutique than I got from them. I have yet to receive anything cosmetically damaged from BM. I think I've ordered from Bullmoose once in my entire life... so I'm not familiar with them at all for the most part. My comment was more geared toward Amazon orders... premium slips are really at danger of arriving damaged when shipped in their crappy bubble mailers... if someone gets their item from Amazon and the slip is mint... count yourself very lucky.

I would agree... I don't think a standard flimsy cardboard slip like the ones that come with MVD releases is a direction FCE would want to go with first run releases...

At least I hope not...

If I had to guess... I bet the premium OCN-style slip will continue to be the norm for the first printing... kind of like how Arrow does their LE run first with the chip box and extra swag... then once those sell out... they'll re-print with the MVD style FCE flimsy slip for all print runs thereafter... just like Arrow does with their SE releases...

At least that's how I see it... but Lord knows I've been wrong in my assumptions before... especially with this label.

Oh yeah, Amazon are absolutely horrible with packaging for movies now...pretty much the worst of anywhere now in my experience. I dread ordering anything with a Slipcover (or Steelbook) from there in fear of how it will arrive. I can remember how good they used to package everything in their earlier days, with board/plastic in boxes. But now even if it's a few bucks more elsewhere, I generally don't even chance it anymore.

Bullmoose are owned by the employees, so they seem to put more care in what they do. They're kind of the littlest of the big guys now I suppose, not boutique...but close enough in comparison.

I think, much like the OCN titles, the initial pressing will include slips but nothing after, even MVD style slips. Those are likely only for reissues, MVD Rewind titles per se. So the previous OCN titles will get those but new titles won't get a slip after the initial sellout.

Kind of an odd claim by MVD, considering FCE already released it on Blu-ray a year ago.

It looks like they just copied the old FCE Blu-ray's Synopsis/Overview from that edition and then changed the wording around a little... but forgot to remove that bit from near the end of it.

I went back to the initial tweet from FCE. It doesn't say slip it just says cover. We may all be jumping the gun a bit.

You're probably fine with most retailers still, but note these posts from 2+ weeks ago. The slip and booklet are first printing only.

Amazon has 2 listings. If you want the slip, order the limited edition. The "special edition" will be the standard one, which will street in July.

I think it’s really nice of them to make them completely different editions, so you have a better idea of what you are getting.
