Space.

For myself, it is much easier to take a big studio release and treat it like a bonus disc in something else than it is to do the same with a boutique one. I can't reconcile putting a Criterion into a Eureka.

You'd have to remember which discs to swap back in before selling. Plus to me it doesn't seem right breaking sets apart and mixing them.

I'm already putting movies on top of the cases horizontally. I cleared out my entire "haven't-watched-it-in-forever" list and put that in the garage. Warner really could have helped us out here.

Now we can all wait until September when Warner put the new master of STM in the 100 set just to annoy the hell out of all of us. Or better still in the US set only in May that will really make me blow my top.

Anyone think it ironic the music on the menu for the Donner cut 4k is Supes returning the flag at the end of Superman 2 Theatrical.

Another classic goof by WB.

No TV cut of 1 (you need to buy tat separately). No TV cut of II or III. Want the brand new 1080p shorts? Buy that separate too. They even dropped the amazing 70mm audio from 1. Add in that the blu-rays are the OLD MASTERS for II-IV, not the remasters. The fact that so much is missing from the old set, yet they're charging a premium price for this set, is an insult to Superman fans.
This is why I won't be buying it. I don't care about steelbooks and all it offers for a premium price is new transfers of three movies I want. All of the other discs are superfluos to my interests.

Well, there it is. They spent the money to reauthor and remove the 5.1 track and didn't bother fixing the goof in one of films greatest opening sequences. Embarrassing.

Agree I was on the fence so long with this set and caved eventually because I'm Superman superfan. But agree for the general public they may not realise how little value this set is.

Well this is painful to watch, every shot from STM in the Donner cut recap looks better than it does on the STM 4k disc. Way to go WB, what a bunch of idiots!

I think today's the day I'm going to finally cancel my Amazon steelbook pre-order. Maybe for $75 for II-IV, but not $150 with tax for a set this sloppy and incomplete.

Yeah, I was hoping for a miracle, but I think I'm canceling mine, too. The packaging is the least attractive part of what this set was SUPPOSED to be.

I never bought it in the end either. I cancelled my pre-order because of all the crap from WB and until they get their act together I won’t be buying it. I’ll stick with my 8 disc Blu-ray box set and the 4KUHD of 1 with the 70mm soundtrack.

If when they release the new 4K remaster with the 70 MM mix of 1 and add all the special features with all the different cuts of the films on 4k and remastered Blu-ray discs with all the issues fixed then maybe I’ll give WB my hard earned cash.

Sorry WB you need to try harder. For starters going to the trouble of putting number 1 in the box set with a different inferior soundtrack with the old 4K picture is a major f*ck up in my book. That’s a head scratcher. Nothing like treating the fans properly eh WB! That’s incompetent.

I just cancelled again. I am just going to wait to see if the singles in the US set have UPC numbers on the backs of them because if they do that would mean individual releases down the line are most likely. If not I will see if any sets are broken up on ebay and get the second films.

Same with theatrical cut of SII as well. It's especially noticeable when you see the night scene of Supes flying up from the street to rescue Lois. The brightness of his costume is fixed.

Only in the opening titles which recap the first movie. It doesn't reuse shots in the film proper as The Richard Donner Cut does.

Comics have done this since the beginning (Magazines do it too). I collected lots of comics growing up and never really understood why until later. Usually they are released about two months prior to the date shown on the cover. Having a date like that shows consumers that it is 'current,' but it is also the date the issue should be pulled from the stands.

Watching Donner cut 4k, there are a lot of earth tones applied visually that are a conscious choice. I don't think it would look like this naturally.

Difficult to describe bit it's like a brown wash has been applied to the whole thing so all the different photography across the film joins better.
