makes sense to go with the UK steelbook because you can keep the j-card WITH the title, unlike US versions

This now means Zavvi no longer have exclusive deal with Disney for UK SteelBooks

No digital code with the U.K versions are a deal breaker for me and U.S import looks like the only way to go.

It never used to be, when digital versions were cheaper, the latest 4k releases are running at 19.99 now on U.K itunes which makes the U.K edition a 24.99+19.99 buy if you want the disc and streaming version.

sounds like your streaming is more important than the physical

It's cool, we are all movie fans here right? I suppose the counterpoint is opinions like the above are why us Brits keep getting done over.

Just a reminder how far we have fallen, my HMV U.K Steelbook 4k release of 'War For The Planet Of The Apes' contains the 4k Bluray, the 3D Bluray, the Bluray and....an itunes 4k code for War *and* HD codes for Rise and Dawn via Google Play. What a release that was.

Yes, its a superb disc which looks and sounds stellar through my home setup but when I need to travel, the option is there to take my movies on the road without having to double dip. If you don't travel that's cool but for 24.99 GBP I am expecting a digital code. I have now pre-ordered the U.S BB disc and will bow gracefully out of this thread

I'm surprised there's not much discussion here about the fact that this is a HMV exclusive whereas every first-run MCU steelbook since (I think) Civil War have been Zavvi exclusives.

It's not just the UK. Canada has many of its releases stripped of the digital code and so has the US. They are still there for many big mainstream titles, but prices have gone up and content of these releases have gone down.

Digital copies are icing on the cake. Nice to have, but not essential.

This thread and forum is for SteelBook lovers.

Wish we could get 1/4 slips like the UK, so much betterer.

No rubbing on the front while on the shelf ...

Digital codes for Disney and Marvel films from the US and Canadian copies are cheap as anything on the resellers market. Canadian codes appear to be appearing less and less and going the way of the UK market i.e. non-existent. I can imagine the US following soon after and there being no codes in any releases by 2025.

No 3D version is the deal breaker for me, so the Japanese import is the only way to go.

Time works differently in the quantum realm. It could have been announced already, but we won't know for another five years...or something.

I’m surprised by this as well. And disappointed, because Zavvi ships internationally and hmv doesn’t….

Have to think about how I continue my complete Zavvi collection now then :/.
