Gamefly should come in and scoop up that remaining audience. Netflix never did add 4K disc rentals to their offerings. Not that it mattered, but if they had, I would have adjusted my plan. Redbox, Gamefly, and what few remaining mom and pop rental shops left will have that segment of the disc rental market all to themselves now.

Haven't seen the first one but I liked the second one. The clown has so much character without saying anything.

After 25 years of operation, Netflix announced Tuesday that 2023 will see the end of the DVD rental service...

Guess I'll have to go with my plan B:
Subscribe to a streaming service for a month or 2, binge watch all the content I'm interested in, cancel, move to another streaming service and repeat.

Redbox at the dollar store will be interesting. I would like to see them survive.

They have been pulled from grocery stores and Walmarts in my area.

I just bought 4 movies at a dollar store for $2.14 total so I would be checking what’s in store before using the Redbox. What is in store is not new release and some rent and rip Redbox users don’t tend to even want the hard copy.

I’ve seen some used movies at the dollar store and I wonder if they will work with Redbox to take some of the used discs.

I’m sure Netflix is in a death spiral. They will only be streaming and will never be the essential app for streaming. That said, it’s such a poorly managed company it’s long overdue. The habit of raising prices while degrading service is a hard sell. And NF originals are often unwatchable.

If you're an Insidious fan you should check this out https://www.youtube.com/live/DHrtasmkrV8?feature=share. It's been running since last night and they respond to comments as a demon. Pretty cool marketing.

If publicly traded it would be interesting to see if the Netflix announcement would have sent their shares up.

For me it will end > 17 years of monthly payments to Netflix (disc and streaming). AFAIK Netflix never did disc by mail outside the US.

Will checkout what Gamefly offers.

Been doing this since the beginning with all except Netflix. In September Netflix streaming will get the permeate axe, would have already done except for one series the spouse watches.

They have a pretty good selection of 4K disc material. I have Cool Hand Luke and Plane arriving on 4K disc today. You can also get a lot of used 4K discs for under $10.

Used to have several small, independent rental sites bookmarked but I never used. Most are gone now . One site even specialized in 3D titles.

Watched Mulholland Drive in 4K tonight. Pristine looking with punchy, clear audio.

Film is a delight of course.

The video isn't playing anymore. Too bad. I've seen all the movies except for the first and saw the last two in theaters. Glad the first is getting a UHD release.

Default Netflix to bring down the curtain on its DVD-by-mail service!

Well it's Official made my Spectrum News, Netflix out of DVD Market. What do you guys think now, will it change any of your future plans? Like backing up your Disc Players!

Plane on 4K disc rocked! So much fun and the 4K DV was near reference, but the Atmos was reference.

One disc player and a conputer usb disc reader is all I need for now.

Whatever Netflix does has makes no difference to me. ESP after ending the disc rental part of the service which I haven’t used in many years.I have access to several streaming services and Netflix is the bottom feeder.

Enjoying The Last Thing He Told Me on ATV+ and looking forward to being Ghosted by Ana de Armas tomorrow.

Agree.

At onetime we had several SVOD active, as of yesterday only have Prime (includes shipping) active all the rest or dormant or will soon be. Have several AVOD or FAST accounts but never use them.
