Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 3D Blu-ray (2023) [Region Free] READ FIRST POST

Watched this yesterday. Unfortunately it was regular IMAX version, not 3D - but based on what I saw and having somewhat modest expectations for the conversion, I think it's going to look absolutely AMAZING in 3D.

As for my general thoughts:
• Easily the best of the 3 stand-alone GotG films
• James Gunn's absolute masterpiece as a director
• Second best MCU movie of the year so far after Quantumania
• Chukwudi Iwuji is absolutely amazing here, as befits someone trained by the Royal Shakespear Company - his performance is truly Shakespearean!
• Probably the most accessible MCU movie for general audiences since SMNWH

The cast is of course very good BUT it lacks the gravitas that older actors like Angela Bassett, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer have brought to other recent MCU movies.

• None of the Guardians died - although of course there are some close calls
• Adam Warlock starts off fighting Guardians but eventually comes around to side with them.
• Fun small parts include Nathan Fillion and Gunn's wife. Yondu appears briefly as an apparition. Stallone gets two or three small scenes.
• Post-credits scene includes fun reference to GotG Holiday Special AND promises that Star Lord will return.....
