Ya know how when you put a disc in the PS5, the game icons at the top will let you know if it’s a PS4 game or a PS5 game? When you upgrade a game off of the PS4 disc, will the game icon still read “PS4” ? In this case, when I put in the PS4 Lost Legacy disc, the game icon reads “PS4”… but if I updated it, will it then read, “PS5”? |

I don't have the console turned on but I remember having installs of both the previous games showing the PS4 badge and also a new Legacy of Thieves launcher with the PS5 badge.
Also note that I had an issue with 120hz with this game. Even though I wasn't running 120hz mode it was still activating it and messing up HDR until I disabled 120 functionality completely at the system level. This was with an LG C7. Your results may vary. Unless my tired eyes are deceiving me, I'm only seeing 3 rings, making this a BD66. But the box says 88GB min, so it must still be saving something for a download.
Edit: I corrected my erroneous BD66 assumption below. Last edited by JurassicBD; 02-02-2023 at 12:17 AM. |

Legacy of Thieves has an install size of 67.45GB without any patches. It includes both full games and all the extra cheats and graphic modes on the disc (they had to be downloaded in the PS4 versions).

I was wrong, it's a BD100. I had to do a little research, as I'm un-studied in UHD specs. I looked at the disc again with fresh eyes and a magnifier. It still shows only 3 barcodes. What I didn't realize is that UHD BDs squeeze in 33 1/3 GB per layer, as opposed to standard BDs 25 GB per layer. So 3 layers at 33 1/3 GB each equals 100 GB.

I haven’t yet popped the disc in ( maybe in a few weeks), but, does it load as one file off the disc, or, does it separate into two PS5 game badges (icons) at the top of the PS5 screen? |

Sorry, I haven't loaded mine yet either, I just opened it to inspect the disc for scratches. I had just played through the PS4 editions again last summer, but for the first time on a 4K screen. They looked terrific even for the original PS4 discs, btw, played via a PS5. I picked up the PS5 edition when it went on sale at BF. For some reason, I always get in the mood for these games during the summer, and I just started Ghost of Tsushima, so it might be a while.

This had a day 1 patch (and later a small patch for VRR) but I'm pretty sure it wasn't 20 gigs. I think all content is on the disc.

I started this on Performance mode (1440p/60fps) but apparently it got a patch later to enable unlocked framerates, so performance mode can go up to 80-90fps if this option is turned on
anyone knows if there are any down sides to this? I used avoid unlocked frames on the ps4 pro when it was 40-60fps, but the starting chapters seem smooth and the fluctuating isn't obvious. |

I tried out all 3 modes on this game but ultimately settled on the 1440p/60fps performance mode. The 4K/30fps "graphics" mode was a no go, as I just cant go back to 30fps gaming, no matter how nice the game looks. The performance plus mode can run at 120fps but the downside is the resolution is at 1080p. The extra framerate is nice but its nowhere near the leap from 30 to 60. For the current gen consoles I just feel like 1440p/60fps is the sweet spot between resolution and performance. |

- the fidelity (4k) mode is 40fps now, drops lower, though. (and higher with unlocked framerate, so 30-60 I guess) but that sound like a headache to me. - the performance (1440p) mode is 80-100fps with unlocked framerate on, which is the mode I'm playing, but not sure if locking the fps to 60 is more stable/better experience. I'm new to higher framerates modes. - no changes to the Performance+ mode. (1080p/120) I checked Digtial Foundry, and they recommend Performance with unlocked frame rate. |

From my experience, the unlocked VRR performance modes work best for LG OLED tv’s. The 40fps options are nice to have but still don’t stand up to unlocked 60fps. The 30fps options always look sluggish owing to the super fast pixel refresh. The best 40fps mode I’ve ever tried is the Ratchet & Clank one, though.
