This would be an AWESOME candidate for 4K upgrade. The visuals, along with the film, are fantastic and made for the format. And while Scream is at it, give us a CE of Leatherface TCM III

Very surprised they still haven’t announced Psycho II-III on UHD. Their Blu-rays are a decade old and showing their age.

USA Today's Shout!/Scream Factory announcements

A nice set of Shout! and Scream Factory announcments earlier today (read about them first on the Facebook pages). Haven't got any of the Child's Play films on Blu-ray, so was considering getting the 4K Blu-ray/Blu-ray combo releases of the first three films, as well as getting the UK Blu-ray boxset which includes the remaining films in the film series. However, on looking at the announcements today, it's swaying me towards getting Shout's releases of the remaining four films instead.

Yes!

Just watched II a couple weeks back and the transfer is for sure aging poorly. We've been so spoiled lately that some of these early boutique label transfers are beginning to look aged(in comparison of what they could be now).

Additionally to that, recently watched the OOP Crawlspace blu not long ago and that transfer is looking pretty dated as well. I'd have to assume that'll be a VS/KL UHD upgrade at some point.

At the time, Scream Factory just used whatever Universal, MGM, etc gave them. In Psycho II-III’s case, that meant Universal’s usual DVD-era master with lots of artificial sharpening and edge enhancement. Halloween II-III were in the same boat. I’m surprised Arrow used the same master for their UK Psycho II release. Both films (and Psycho IV) need new 4K transfers.

You mean Seed? Cult is like Psycho 1 to Psycho 3/4 compared to Seed of Chucky.

I'm thinking they are referring to the "quality" of Cult.

I know right. Will Cult benefit from a UHD more than the extended cut of Lifeforce that Shrimp Factory deemed unworthy of a UHD release?

Freddy vs. Jason also celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year.
I also hope to see both of them make the jump to 4K this year

Funny you mentioned that since Devon Whitehead, the artist who did the new Chucky art recently posted an art piece for Freddy vs Jason on Instagram.

That was pricey, but I got my $150 Chucky bundle pre-ordered. I've waited a long time to have slipped copies for all of the films. Just hope Uni doesn't screw over the show's third season by skipping a Blu release.

I'll assume they will produce new extras for Curse + Cult to justify the CE label (even if they probably only did it for consistency). That's enough to justify a double dip for me, but I will be curious to read reviews on how those 4K masters compare.

Shout canceled my order of the Chunky movies and Team America so I had to reorder them and I went a head and ordered the set with the special covers and posters it was only $2 more so no big deal. I’ll give the posters to my nephew.
