One for Adam - with Katsuhito Ishii coming to London on the 5th of July, I don't suppose there's any chance of the collection being available at the show (ahead of its release on the 17th) for people to buy and get signed, is there? I know the Prince Charles Cinema did something similar recently for Garth Marenghi's book signing where you could purchase a copy at the stall in the foyer and have him sign it after.

Yes, there will be pre-signed (need to be pre-signed as the PCC lobby is too small for people to line up for signatures) copies on sale of it along with Funky Forest and Taste of Tea. Will probably be £50 for the signed copy. There won't be too many, maybe 40 of so max

They likely are. The Guard from Underground has just been rated by BBFC for Third Window Films:

Was able to finally get a copy of Kikujiro, tho it's ordered online from CEX so hoping the disc will turn out fine. That means I'll now have all third window Kitano blu-rays. Gets me hoping that there will be in the future more Kitano releases here in the UK. Especially with his new film coming out later this year.

Yes, there are still a few Kitano films that haven’t had particularly wide releases (or no UK release in particular). The Outrage series, Ryuzo and His Seven Henchmen, Achilles and the Tortoise, Glory to the Filmmaker, Takeshis’, and Brother - not exactly the cream of the Kitano crop (Brother would be my favourite from that list), but would still be good to see them getting released at some point.

I imported the Japanese versions of most of that lot, luckily I did, as they might actually never come out here…

Actually yeah I should probably get round to that, never even realised they had English subs which is great.

G. I. Samurai (1979) and Virus (1980) have received the 4K UHD treatment by Kadokawa in Japan. Any chance that TWF (or someone else) might provide these two minor genre gems with at least standard blu-ray releases that are English friendly?

I can't see any more Kitano coming (at least via TWF). I hope they are released at some point though.

For anyone that's not using terracotta for Go (it's under their free shipping threshold so if you've nothing to pair it with or don't like waiting as they ship when full orders are complete) then it's only £17.99 on HMV
https://hmv.com/store/film-tv/blu-ray/go-(1)
That's under HMV's threshold too but they ship everything at is is released so I've paired it with some Radiance pre-orders.
amazon aren't price matching HMV so it has been sat at just over £24 there for ages.

Do I remember reading a while ago that the pink films might be re-released in a boxset?
Whilst 5/6 is still around, 1/2, and 3/4 seem long gone, and I would think it likely if people were interested in one set they would be interested in them all.
(Although this theory does fall apart a bit with 5/6 being in stock as I presume they had the same numbered print run)

Had thought about it, but it may be next year as still waiting for 5/6 to go totally out of print.

Gakuryu Ishii (director of Burst City and Crazy Thunder Road) is preparing his next film for Happinet to be released in Japan next year, an adaptation of the novel The Box Man by Kobo Abe, the author of Woman in the Dunes.

Adam, any chance of releasing The Duel Project: Aragami / 2LDK? I know only the latter film, instead of the complete Duel Project, has a BD release across the pond but I'd prefer a release with both films.

I've been talking to the production company of them about restoring them from the original negatives as the US bluray release wasn't. Though, still in discussions about raising the money for the restorations and place to do it.
