With the original film, Suicide Circle, seeing a recent blu-ray release, I wonder if we're ever going to see some love for the prequel, Noriko's Dinner Table? Would be nice!

Any other fans? It seems largely forgotten these days.

My heart skipped a second when I saw this post. This should be in the wishlist section, but yes, I'm a fan of this.

This thread got my hopes up. I’m fine with a nice new scan and simple English friendly BD like Suicide Club. Don’t need, want or expect anything big given the situation with Sono.

Sorry, I didn't mean to get your hopes up... having just ordered the blu-ray for Suicide Circle, I was bummed that there hadn't been any word about the prequel getting any kind of updated release. Seems like a huge missed opportunity. And agreed, just a nice new scan and a simple English friendly BD would be great!

What is the situation with Sono?

I figured any kind of interest drummed up couldn't hurt. I didn't realize there was a wishlist, as I don't tend to come onto these forums very much.

To be fair, these are simply accusations, rather than proven fact. There are numerous accounts given in the article (many done anonymously), as well as some insiders that have also noted his predatory behavior. Sono himself has also apologized for how he has behaved, though has obviously not fully admitted to coercing the the dozens of possible victims out there. This kind of behavior is unfortunately fairly common in the Japanese film industry, perhaps moreso than in Hollywood, and it's less likely to get as much traction there as it has here.

But are there any doubts? It sounds like, not so much. And yes, all of that is unfortunate.

So this prequel might never get some much needed update love.
