This game looks insane. If it's even half as fun as it looks it'll still be an all-timer. Damn.

I have TRIED and TRIED to get into NMS over the years but ultimately I get bored every time, no matter how many updates they make to it. I finally just had to admit defeat and say these kinds of games are not for me.

Oh, and Todd Howard calling the 30fps cap on console a "creative choice" is laughable! That's like a 300lb nerd saying virginity a lifestyle choice. LOL. If it truly was a creative choice, why not cap it at 30 on PC as well?

They could have cut out a chunk of their assets to hit 60, but it would undermine what they offer, what hooks people into these games, the breadth of it all, and it was a choice to stick to that.
It doesn't effect pc because pc can handle both the assets and the framerate.

Tears of the Kingdom plays at 30fps or below and it's the best game of the year. This matters very little to the overall experience.

He's not playing that either because of the framerate.

While I'm personally waiting until Switch 2 to play TOTK because, presumably Nintendo will release a version on that that will run at 60fps, the 30fps on Switch is at least more understandable because it's very old tech. Plus Nintendo never touted it as "the world's most powerful console" and "It eats monsters for breakfast."

It's obviously a CPU bottleneck. XSX and PS5 have the equivalent of a AMD Ryzen 3700x CPU. Which is a PC chip from 2019. AMD has already released 2 new generations (5000 series and 7000) since the 3700x was released. Wouldn't surprise me if we unfortunately get more 30fps titles on XSX and PS5. Even Digital Foundry said it was inevitable.

We all know that when they update the game for the next xbox, the first thing they'll do is brag about the framerate, call it the definitive version, etc. we've been through this times and times again, I don't get why people defend these things.

not saying people shouldn't be fine with 30fps, but let's not pretend 'creative choice' isn't bullshit

Not the monster bullshit. You just come off as an 8 year old fanboy with your hyperbole. And if I remember you don’t even have an Xbox so why do you care how a game runs on a platform you’ll never play it on?

Oh I see the 30 fps is a "gotcha". His toy is better than my toy. I'm too old for this.

Also Id like to point out Aaron Greenberg's tweet at the start of this generation...

https://twitter.com/Nick101Gaming/st...134243843?s=20

Aaron Greenberg - "60fps will be the standard output. But the archtecture allows us up to 120fps".

I'm not comparing anything to anything. I'm simply holding MS to what they said, and this is what they said.

I stand corrected. I've heard some dumb shit but that takes the cake.

I still want to know why you care when you don't even have the platform. When you complain about something you don't own you sound like a fanboy.

Dyne, I don't "care". I'm just having a conversation and admittedly getting amusement by how irritated some act over what I say. I just find it fascinating how quickly people are willing to make excuses and not call MS out over promises they made at the beginning of this generation. Who's really acting like the fanboy? The one calling them out or the one who rolls over and just accepts it?

Starfield's PC version requires an SSD.

Quote:
Following Starfield’s big showing over the weekend at Microsoft’s Not-E3 presentation, some more practical details about the game are coming to light. Among them are the game’s specs on PC, and while we don’t normally post that sort of stuff here, one key requirement makes these pretty damn notable.

Here are the specs, courtesy of the game’s newly-updated Steam page:

Hopefully "Pro" models will be announced next year, which would alleviate this.
