I've had similar experience with Shout, not just with 4K but I've picked up some regular Blu-ray discs from them this year that have also been scratched up.

Scratches or not, Kino are usually the sales I'm looking forward to most when they come around though. They have a very diverse catalogue and their sale prices tend to feel like an actual sale where I am spending hundreds of dollars. The other boutiques have just jacked up their MSRP in anticipation of future 50% sales.

Shout probably gets a discount from the Mexican factory by using scratched discs. Shout be like don’t throw those away, give us a discount and use them for our discs! The little SOBs won’t notice, hahaha

I just placed an order for two movies via a credit card and it worked fine. Maybe it was a temporary glitch.

Kino Lorber's sale is coming mid-July. I agree... Shout will probably announce something soon.
Kino's sale won't be mid-July (which is next week), it's unclear when it will happen but it gives my wallet some time to recover...

I've bought some of their 4Ks for $14.99 in previous sales (although in the last one they were mostly $17.99). I've seen newer BluRays go down to $9.99 and some go much lower than that.

They include hundreds of items in their sales but it's not everything like Criterion's 50% off sale, you need to check the sale page when it's announced

I tried again; this time, it at least allowed me to fill in my CC details, but after clicking the final button, it returns this error message:

There was an error processing your payment. Reason: Cannot Authorize at this time (Policy)
Tried twice, same result. Hmmm. It's (Parents) been in my Amazon cart for eons. I don't want to spend 26.88 for it. so this was chance to shave off a slab of that, but their site is not playing ball for me. I wish Amazon would price-match this sale!

Can you use another payment method. Or use the card you want via the PayPal method?

Coolish! Amazon dropped the price of this title to $20.99. They're evil, but a necessary evil sometimes.

This is the first time in a long while I'm skipping a Criterion sale. Still have 4 unwatched from the flash sale and only really want 1-2 titles right now. I'll just wait till the next flash to get those Criterion points...

Scratch Studios, but you give Criterion a pass? Criterion is far worse for scratches but I assume you work for Criterion....

I went lite on the Criterions...

...but these were musts for me. Even moreso, I wanted...

...but B&N and Criterion were both out-of-stock. Amazon is asking $$27.87 (and a one month wait!) to B&N's 19.99. An astonishing film, but I can wait it out.

I chose B&N because for the same price, I prefer to give the bird to Amazon, the vultures.

Still trying to save my pennies for KL.

I've reached a point with Criterion where I have everything I want from their catalogue. So unless something new comes out their sales are pretty light for me.

Now Kino on the other hand I find myself dropping copious amounts of cash on from sale to sale. Whenever they do decide to do their next sale, I will no doubt be making a haul or two (or three).

With the $50 free shipping minimum for buying direct, once my Criterion-related wishlist is empty it could be a long time before there are another 3 titles I want.

They've really cut back on the Criterions they stock at my local B&N store. They used to carry literally all of them with multiple copies on the shelves. They probably stock a third of what they did on the last sale now.

I can't recall ever buying a new Criterion and seeing any visible scratches....and I own a fair amount of them. I bought a couple of newer ones just the other day, and one was a 3-disc 4K/Blu-ray combo.
