Default Do we have an official "I need to vent" thread?

FFS!

I just got back from an interview.

My work history summed up is, 13 yrs in manufacturing. The majority is sales, with some estimating and scheduling. 9 of this is in Steel!

Some JACKA$$ calls me up for an interview for a Production Planner position. Half way throught the interview, it's now an assistant or monkey job and by the time it's done, it's ordering parts and stocking shelves. He's surprized to hear I'm not interested in entry level crap!

WHAT ON EARTH WOULD LEAD HIM TO BELIEVE I WANT TO STOCK PARTS!?

DON'T WASTE MY DAMN TIME YOU FRIGGIN TWIT! AND GAS TOO, IT WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CITY!!!!

Ok, I'm done.

Thanks.

The exact same thing happened to me many years ago. I was so peeved about the downward spiral of the interview, that I stopped him half-way through and politely told him that based on my qualifications I would certainly be over-qualified for what he was discussing with me. I thanked him and walked out.

It's the newest "thing". We have to adapt to technology. I don't use it and I agree with you about it.

Somewhere along the same line..... here's the background, and my upsetting story......

My department got ELIMINATED..... so I'm without a job....

I have a professional background etc... (Quantitative Analysis) so a friend of my in-laws says "I know a higher-up at XXXXXX" and he says he's pretty sure with his recommendation he can get me an interview for this company, which happens to have its corporate HQ in our city.... so I'm thinking "great!"

Well... I send resume, Cover letter, Salary History, etc... he forwards it to his "Higher-up Contact person" and next thing I know, he's talking to me about a retail position making barely over minimum wage at one of this company's retail store locations...... reporting to an assistant mgr nonetheless.....

I told him that he was talking about a position that paid less than I could afford to work for..... (we actually paid our nanny more than this job would pay me ) I didn't give him specifics, but politely told him I would continue to look for available jobs at the Corporate office which would be a better fit for my skills-set, and left it at that.....

Pet Peeve #82: When I return something at the store and they staple my old receipt to the new one. I truly hate that.

That just pisses me off! Clearly they can tell what you're capable of and the income your looking for!

Why waste your time AND THEIRS?

I prefer to never vent my emotions, I let them pile up and grow ever stronger until I finally explode.
That way the bigger the mess

I hate how these cheap bargain dvd companies release foreign films and they release them in 4:3 Widescreen and the subtitles are hardcoded, it's like watching a VHS.

I HATE when people do not appreciate the advantages they have in life. If you're being supported by your family and you are over the age of 18, and by this I mean you do not pay any bills and whatever you ask for is more or less yours. Car payments, cell phone bills, internet, food among other things. If I hear you whine about something I will find you, unless you show some initiative.

I hate the following people who lack any kind of consideration when driving:

- People who pull out in front of you at the last minute, and then drive 10 mph under the speed limit, and there was not a car in sight behind you!

- People who don't use their turn signals (C'mon, it's one simple motion, push the stick up or down, the car will do the rest!)

- People who cannot simply park between the 2 white lines provided for them on the pavement in a parking lot.

There are others, but this is my top 3......

Happened to me twice on the way to work this morning.

Just proves any idiot can get a license, which is really, really unfortunate.

I don't completely have a problem with people that drive and talk on a cellphone, but I have a problem with dumb people that do this. Some people just aren't good drivers to begin with, and we're going to give them another distraction? My state has no limitations on driving and using a cell phone and it seems that every time I see someone crossing lanes they are on a cell phone.

I also agree with others that get annoyed when people don't use turn signals. It isn't that difficult to use a signal when you are changing lanes, but I get really annoyed if someone is sitting waiting to turn without a signal on.

guys complaining about getting job offers that are "beneath them", I understand BUT:

just remember that there are many engineers, analysts, and other highly qualified people out there right now taking whatever they can get...some would be happy to find ANY job based on their location

Very true indeed. And if I were out of a job today, I would take just about anything offered. I didn't have to when I was in that downward spiral interview.

I hate when people speed up just to get in front of you and then slow down to make a right turn on a side street!

I hate it when idiots are talking on the phone while driving, swerving and almost causing accidents.

I hate close talkers! Especially when they have just ate a boatload of garlic.

[Show spoiler]I think we have an official vent thread, thanks Grumpz!

Some people are smart enough to save enough so they can be selective about job offers. If you can afford to wait it's not worth taking an entry-level position when you have the experience to get a better job.
