Nice! Going to see it this weekend.

If someone in the family likes it well enough for a purchase, hopefully the US gets a 4k steelbook similar to this, and I’ll pick it up.

Far too heavy handed with the "Messaging' to garner my interest and yes, a simple fun romp in the Barbie Universe could have been something my Girls and I enjoy. Sadly "fun", was not the biggest part of their intended delivery.
I suppose with Gerwig, I should have known.

100% agree, then they have her doing the new Narnia film of all things. SMH.

The steel is nice looking, but the film itself will go over as well as the new pink sauce whopper they have as a tie in promo.

That will be the super 4K collector's release down the road: you'll have to choose between barbie, ken, or one or more of the friends!

Whole set should only set you back about 500

I'm definitely picking up whichever steelbook is available in the US - this is one of the year's best movies.

If the American one looks the same as this one, I'll definitely be very happy with it.

Yep, my wife and I loved it (more than our 11 year old daughter - she was never a huge Barbie fan though)! Definitely a more fun movie than I thought it was going to be!

I didn't expect it to become "not available" (at least on amazon uk) so soon after listing, but seeing as this is a December release I am truly hoping it will be listed elsewhere in Europe. then again it doesn't really look that good (tho I take it it's supposed to be a trolley?), but as I fear I will adore this movie I will just have to have it!

That isn't the actual release date. December is just the placeholder date.

Also, according to Paul Boland, a 4K SteelBook will be available for sale from Amazon UK soon (there is already a listing for it) as well as a regular 4K release.

No, I don't know when it will go live so it's up to you to keep checking. Don't wait for somebody to post "it's live" here.

So most likely a 4K release will be coming to North America as well. I don't know if there will be a SteelBook or not.

This. So much this. Unless you are prepared to pay through the nose for a secondhand copy, or wait an indeterminate amount of time for a second run, buy if your reaction is anywhere from "ok" to "on the fence."

Your wallet will thank you later, even if you decide to sell the copy you wind up not wanting to another person here.

Worst case, you made your money back and boosted your trading score. Best case, you saved yourself money and got the steel you otherwise missed out on.
