I don’t think it’s so much that they “hate” them; they just apparently wanted priority given to the translations that they supervised. They did allow that original English cast to return for the Prime dubs of the Rebuild series.

The last official word from GKIDS dates back to this December 2022 tweet, which stated that they planned to release 3.0+1.11 in 2023.

Note that it's only been 3.5 months since the Japanese DVD/BD/UHD release date of March 8th 2023, so sometime in Q4 2023 would be a reasonable expectation for the international release date window. It would also line up with this German-language article that claims that Leonine (the DE licensee for other Evangelion home video releases) will do the same in Autumn 2023.

My guess is that we will only see 1.11, 2.22 and 3.33 with Japanese dub and English Amazon dub/sub and maybe "classic" dub/sub as well + bonus features like "Rebuild of Evangelion", trailers, teasers, TV spots.
We most likely see the same scheme with the rebuild movies like Khara did with the TV series + Revival and all territories will get the "same" release. Which most likely will be the "official" version maybe with the addition of the "classic" version.

German publisher Leonine announced and already re-release rebuild movie 1-3 that will fit the upcoming release of rebuild movie 4 in Autumn. And these re-releases are 1.11, 2.22 and 3.33 and contain Japanese audio and both German dub/sub versions, the "old/classic" one and the "new" Amazon version. Korean re-releases of the rebuild movies are also only 1.11, 2.22 and 3.33.

It would be nice if the re-composited 3.333 version of "Q" makes its way out of Japan, as its native resolution is significantly higher than what 3.0 and 3.33 were originally rendered with.

That, and its completely redone "next movie preview" (linked below) actually ties into 3.0+1.0's content (instead of what was planned as of late 2012 and later scrapped).

I don't like it that they choose the cover that was used for the 25th anniversary CD box set. It's somehow irritating. They should've used the same cover that was used for the 2015 JP release but with powerful colors like it was done with the color scheme of the slipcase vs. actual cover of "Music from "EVANGELION: 1.0 YOU ARE (NOT) ALONE"".

I believe that Starchild / King Records had already discontinued doing soundtrack releases on standard audio cassettes a couple years before Evangelion's 1995 debut, so outside of bootlegs from SE Asia there haven't ever been any tapes to begin with. Also, while the format may be seeing an uptick of commercial interest lately I doubt it'll ever get back to the point that we'll see cassette re-releases of Evangelion OSTs alongside the vinyl LPs.

Nah. S-DAT would be a DSD-based cassette format or a Hi-Res Audio format (88.2kHz, 96kHz, 176.4kHz or 192kHz). Sort of like the cassette counterpart to SACD.

Also, there are new cassette tapes being made. I know Taylor Swift's latest albums all get cassette releases. And Konami released some unreleased tracks from Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid V on a cassette tape as Metal Gear Solid V: Original Soundtrack - The Lost Tapes, but only as a bonus with the Limited Edition on CD.

I know that this is a bit of a longshot, but if anyone who has a copy of this promo flier that came with the 2015 Japanese Blu-ray box set could post a decent scan I'd really be appreciate it.

I've been trying to gather reasonably good-quality images of the promo posters/fliers for each major Japanese home video release from the VHS/LD era onwards, but finding one that also makes reference to the 2015 "Archives of Evangelion" DVD box instead of just the Blu-ray box by itself is rather difficult.

True. Except. From what I know, they made a promo cassette in 2000 of Final Fantasy, to promote an upcoming Final Fantasy CD release. And there also was a cassette release of Lucky Star in 2007, that was released next to the CD version.

An anime release like this already happened in the past.
The limited edition of the 2 discs CD set "Ho-kago Tea Time Second" (K-On) included a MC, that contained all songs from disc two.
