Well like most popular IPs in Japan, if Japan does not have it in said format first for a bit, we are not getting it in said no format first or for a bit due to reverse importation concerns. The Ip has to be niche for said company to not care. It’s why Criterion was not given the best prints for their Godzilla collection.
It’s not like Ring (Sadako) where I think we are getting a 4k Blu-ray before Japan does

Since the press release and back of the box mention nothing of a new dub, I assume this means this will just have the Prime Video dub?

Yep, but you can stream it on Amazon. should do just that.

You can wait until it comes down in price. There will obviously be some additional and better sets of these movies coming out in the future.

It hasn’t been said if the standard Blu-ray will contain the bonus disc, which is highly recommended.
The bonus disc has some standard featurettes and interviews, but the main drawing point is arguably the two 3.0 prologue short films, which show some brief moments between Asuka and Mari shortly before the events of 3.0.

Actually, $88.30 in points used as cash. BB does tend to be on the high side anime wise, but not that high. But the points certainly make it nicer. Really the whole reason I have the CC.

Shout's page lists -46h and -120min for the BD and says it's 2 discs. All the 4K lists that the BD doesn't is the external things: poster, art cards, booklet.

Somewhat surprised they're not also releasing a DVD-only version so anyone that bought the FUNimation DVDs could complete their collection. I get that anime DVD sales aren't what they once were, but this is one title that could have been able to justify the sales. It annoys me a little from a consistency standpoint when I see stuff like this.

Glad to see the spine design at least will somewhat match the FUNimation releases of 2.22 and 3.33. As I posted in the past, I was worried it would be GKIDS' standard spine design which would stick out like a sore thumb. Pleasantly surprised to see that averted even with the standard edition.

Now to wonder if they'll put out a CE for 1.11, 2.22, and 3.333 when they inevitably get those.

I don’t know if it’s a typo, but according to GKIDS the 3.0+1.01 version will be available via digital.

I don't think that GKIDS has put out any DVD-only SKUs over the past couple years, and a hypothetical BD+DVD SKU for 3.0+1.11 would require four discs total (like the Sentai Selects rerelease of "Children Who Chase Lost Voices") due to the film's length and amount of bonus features. This in itself just isn't terribly practical or cost effective for obvious reasons.

Anyhow, it's been 7+ years since the US release of 3.0 hit store shelves and the physical media market has changed since then (especially as applied to anime). Even if they did do a limited run of DVDs available only via Shout Factory's website (in order to simplify logistics) the level of demand likely wouldn't be enough to justify the authoring and production costs.

They most recently put out When Marnie Was There last October when they had that switch from Universal to Shout! Factory for the distribution. Though when Ocean Waves got re-released under Shout! Factory around the same time, they didn't re-release the DVD-only SKU. The same thing happened with The Tale of the Princess Kaguya and Only Yesterday, no DVD-only re-release under Shout! Factory.

I was surprised we didn't see a (English) DVD version of NGE back in 2021 while Germany had a DVD stand alone version of the UE and Italy had the UE BD bundled with a DVD version as well as having a DVD stand alone version. Can't talk about the level of demand, but both markets probably even combined for sure are way smaller compared to the US/English(International) market and both had a DVD version. A (English) 5 disc standard DVD version would be a legit release in my opinion (probably with some of the extras stripped because of capacity size of DVD).
I would have bought such 5 disc standard DVD version and I still would buy it just because it's Evangelion. Alone the fact that it is Evangelion, justifies a (one last) DVD release like this.

It should be prescribed by law to complete a series (be it TV or movie) in the same formats and with same packaging/cover design. Or at least re-release all previous things again to match the newest actual up-to-date release. No, really. Not having uniform designs and formats is a no go. Money, being a business or company doesn't justifies such crime. If rights or a company changes at some point it must be mandatory to re-release all previous stuff too. We need some law for this.
Leonine the German publisher did this. They recently re-released rebuild movie 1-3 as DVD and BD to fit the upcoming release of rebuild movie 4.

I want to start this series but I want to get Neon Genesis Evangelion first.

Tried the search on the forum but not that easy to find so I might ask a question that's been asked a lot before: is there any difference in quality between the GKIDS US & AnimeLtd UK release or are they identical? Want to make sure I get the best quality.

Exact same encodes. Only the studio logos are different.

I hope someone can make a printable DVD cover for a GKIDS-style Neon Genesis Evangelion Complete Series.
It would be made to fit a 10-disc DVD case, and it would contain the Platinum Edition ADV DVDs and the Manga movie DVDs.
Just so I could have a GKIDS-style DVD cover for the old DVDs.
Speaking of covers, it's weird that the Collector's Edition box doesn't have the title on the spine.

I got the 4K down to $61 through RS with a 15% off coupon. $65 after tax. Still a lot for one movie but I prefer the look of the CE over the standard Blu-ray cover.

Steelbook looks great. I wish we were getting that in the US. Maybe it'll show up as a Best Buy exclusive or something.
