I'm glad the studios don't have that power over you or me.
My spending had dropped sharply for quite awhile, but now that things have stabilized somewhat I have resumed buying what I enjoy. I bought 39 titles in July including that exorbitant OOP Dune 1984 set.

I just spent £200 on filth! I’m a bad man!

I also received the Hobbit boxset but sadly, Amazon have mucked up. They sent me the DVD set instead.

The mix-up must be due to all the bad karma that you have accrued.

Apparently I can't redeem my digital code from Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 Blu-ray yet, even though it came out today. WTH?

Maybe I just won't get a new monitor at all, in the near future. If I go into my Sony's color settings and shift "Hue" to red slightly (Other direction is green.) the colors appear closer to what they are on my Asus monitor. Will do this for the TV HDMI channel that my graphics card uses. The 65 inch TV is still too far away for regular computer use, though. I want to see the details of pictures without squinting. I need a folding desk lower than the typical 29 inches, since the TV stand is only high enough for the sofa. Once I have that, I can set the table, place the wireless KB/M on top, roll this computer chair in front of the sofa, adjust the height and then fold and put the table away when I don't need it anymore. Finding a nice desk like that (without a raised part in front that would block the TV) might be complicated, though.

I accidentally ordered the steel book of Ferris Bueller's Day Off instead of a real case.

It's totally worth having because the cover art is so bad catching a glimpse of it is like a glitch in the Matrix.

Was given a PS5 beta code and was playing around with streaming Atmos content and it's stable and works. There is still no DV support, but with the new beta, 4K HDR/Atmos via streaming programming is up.

Their debt burden should be considered, also, not just their "cash on hand" in isolation.
For a company with a Market Cap of almost $200 billion, that's pocket change. ALL public companies carry debt.

Disney: $47 billion
Comcast: $105 billion
Paramount Global: $15.638 billion - this one is an issue because the Market Cap is only $10.58 billion

All of which underscores why context is needed rather than just focusing on one piece of information.

This seems to be alchav's new catchphrase. And apparently he prioritizes commercials.

Not really because I also have Amazon Prime, Disney+, and Netflix with no Commercials. So you have to Prioritize what you watch and what you pay. What are you guys watching?

I watched Brimstone last night.

Thought it was great. Much darker than I was expecting, with an interesting story structure. There wasn't much shown in terms of scenery. The score was also minimalist.

John had already established that fact. He posted Apple's cash on hand but not Netflix's. Go back and read his post.

Try to keep up will you.

Then why are you watching Justified with commercials when you have so many options without commercials (and can easily watch Justified without commercials for just a few dollars more)?

In the last few months I've watched:

Absentia
Battle Creek
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Chicago Fire
Go On
Impulse
L.A.'s Finest
Orange is the New Black
Pinky and the Brain
Reacher
Shameless
The Wrong Mans

All of them were watched on disc. None of them had commercials.

Ah Ha! This is where I get the chance to use your math against you!.

Hulu AVOD = $7.99
Hulu SVOD = $14.99

No ads will cost you 53% more. Another $7 a month. That's not "a few dollars more." Don't forget taxes.

A 53% increase of $7.99=$12.22, not $14.99.

$14.99 is an 87.61% increase of $7.99. Thus, selecting the no ads option will cost you 87.61% more than the ad supported plan.

Looks like you need to keep up, too.
