It can, but it will probably be better received. I liked the second movie but yeah, they definitely need something more audience pleasing next time.

It was one of the biggest disappointments to me. Wonder Woman is easily one of my favorite cbm's and WW1984 was a disaster.

I'm looking forward to picking it up on 4K UHD when it gets released. I was disappointed to hear a lot of people's issues with it but I'm still looking forward to making my own mind up. Sadly didn't get the chance to see it theatrically.

I don’t know, truly, how much the general public want more stories in the Snyderverse, but since the Flash brought in damn near everyone, past and present, move any and all Snyderverse versions of the characters to Max and slap an Elseworlds label on them and make a few more limited series or movies. Why not? WB seems to enjoy burning through money.

Gal Gadot is an amazing Wonder Woman, and I hope she keeps it going for many more years to come.

It doesn't pass the smell test. I don't think it happens. Maybe Gunn and Safran said something to placate Gadot. Or maybe they just offered her some kind of producer role on the next Wonder Woman movie.

But they aren't going to find a new Batman and Superman and then keep Gal Gadot for a Wonder Woman 3.

Plus, if this is legit this wouldn't be appearing in comicbook.com first. If DC was dropping Wonder Woman news it would go in the trades (variety, hollywood reporter etc).

Maybe she gets a cameo in the next one, like Lynda Carter did in the last one

It's coming straight from her, so I'll take it at face value that it's at least being discussed. Doesn't mean it's definite.

Henry Cavill spoke to Gunn and was told directly he was not coming back (Affleck too. But he'd already left anyway). So I'm assuming that if she wasn't coming back she would know.

And if Jason Mamoa is staying after Aquaman 2, no reason not to keep her. She's been great, and the first WW movie defined the character. She deserves to stay as Wonder Woman as long as she can.

No if on Mamoa, he confirmed it on Insta as a four year deal. It was him right outside the offices after the meeting. No details other than four years.

I can't imagine anyone else playing the character after seeing Gadot truly check all the boxes of what Wonder Woman should be. Super thrilled if true.

Even though the 2nd WW movie was pretty bad, I do enjoy Gal Gadot in the role and so from a certain perspective, I am glad that she is continuing on (if what she is saying is true).

But that being said, I still stand behind what I said in my earlier post about how this just continues the trend of making the "reboot" of this universe seem as clear as mud.

The DCEU as a whole has been a mess. If their intent is to fix that, it's not going to help by having some elements carry over rather than having a 100% fresh start separate from all that came before it.

The other thing that confuses me about this (if it is true) is this...

Presumably part of the reason for recasting Superman is because Cavill is 40 years old, and they are likely making a 10+ year plan, and wanting to start with a younger actor. So okay, I get that.

But Gal Gadot is 38, which is not much younger than Cavill. She looks excellent, and I would assume her to be younger if I didn't know better. But none the less, if they are trying to make a plan that will go for a decade or more, and they are already recasting some characters with younger actors for that reason, it seems odd that they would keep her on board. Especially when Wonder Woman shouldn't even age like most other characters.

Yup, if he has a 10 year plan then she'll be nearly 50. I'm sure she'll get a digital make up in the last few movies. But if they're willing to do that for her then why not Cavill?

It just all seems upside down.
