Does anyone else have proof of this supposed email sent out by Atomic??? Because I can't find anything online regarding the steel book being a Best Buy exclusive. I don't even know what's going on with Best Buy considering both the steel book and regular 4K version are currently listed as "coming soon". Something seems fishy. I'm not trying to shade the original person who posted the comment about the Atomic email, but everyone should wait until panicking.

I wouldn't doubt what the other person posted - it's still just one smallish retailer reporting their experience.

Bullmoose had some issue with the Paramount Mission:Impossible steels. They had listings for I think 4 of the 6, with two being disabled/cancelled and V and VI remaining active. I never asked what the deal was there... I ordered the last two from them and got the other 4 from Best Buy.

It's ironic that with this one Bullmoose is the one still taking orders.

The main issue is that ATOMIC are no longer finding it listed thru their distributor.

They believe it could possibly be an exclusive for Best Buy

I know others are able to order it elsewhere, but the main issue, is that these other retailers might not be aware of the availability change. Who knows.

I think ATOMIC was being proactive and letting their customers know ahead of time.

I think as far as ordering from most retailers, sounds like it could be a gamble, I guess cross fingers and hope for the best.

It does NOT surprise me.
With all these swag editions it seems most of them are UK only or if in US Best Buy Steels etc.

The situation for everyone in the dark:

The current guess (which is not confirmed) is the Steelbook is supposed to be Best Buy exclusive and Paramount futzed communication to the point retailers put it up for pre-order who weren't supposed to. This is only going by Atomic Movie Store's guess as to the issue because the release has been completely removed from their distributor, which is different from a release being sold out. This could be a misunderstanding due to a different communication and distro issue but we do not know for sure yet.

Bullmoose isn't the only one still taking pre-orders. FYE, Deep Discount and Grindhouse Media all still have it available for pre-order of the 4K steel book.

Hopefully Paramount will give us answers soon. I was hoping to have it pre-ordered from Walmart at this point.

So the only info to go on is that Atomic Movie Store, some rinky dink online retailer with a website that looks like it hasn't been updated since 2001, "believes" it could possibly be a Best Buy exclusive? But nothing has been set in stone aside from it no longer being listed through their distributor...annnddd now Atomic is taking pre-orders for $46.99 for an import?? Sounds real sus

Sounds like ATOMIC are the first to notice availibility

They are offering the UK edition since they can ORDER it, the US Steel was removed from their distributor as even an option. That was a red flag for them.

I'm sure your copy with AMAZON is safe... until it goes in a bubble bag

So, has anyone heard from Paramount or other retailers about clearing this up yet? I just tweeted Best Buy and their support account asking about it, to see what they say.

I forgot to mention before but back on the 4th, Walmart's customer service said that they expected the steelbook to come back in stock. It seemed like they didn't know it was supposed to be a BB exclusive (if thats still the case.)

My Walmart pre-order hasn't been cancelled yet, so that's a good sign.

Paramount Steelbooks are never retailer exclusives. Atomic Movie Store’s facts are uncoordinated.

I just contacted Paramount about it now and will be waiting for a reply. Maybe if enough of us message them about it, they'll finally address the situation.

I slapped them around a bit but, naw that didn't work. They still wouldn't budge. I also left a message about preordering the movie.

I wonder what's taking them so long to address this. We're less than a month till the release.
