Damn, the amount of self-rightious *******rly in this post......

Also worth noting that both Across The Spider-Verse and Oppenheimer had their embargos lifted the day before previews as well as this: https://multiverseofcolor.com/2023/0...rst-reactions/

I'm not sure how much IMAX theaters are liking the fact that they're forced to play BB over Oppenheimer, it's not exactly great business.

This is what the Friday showing for Blue Beetle looks like at the IMAX Cinema in Czech Republic (the only IMAX in EU outside UK):

Got my statue yesterday.

This is too beautiful to keep in the box. Finding a place to display it.

The social media embargo early reactions are positive of course, but don’t sense the effusive praise you will see when they get actual good reviews (mostly saying stuff like “it’s fun” “great understanding of Latin American culture”). Still, I’m kinda sensing this will clear the low bar of being better than Fury of the Gods and The Flash.

Doesn’t look as good as Shazam or The Flash, but still looks like a fun time at the movies.

Never understood why promoting was such a big deal. Maybe people like that shit, but I never watch talk shows or any interviews leading up to movie releases. I know whether I'm seeing a movie or not long before promotional tours begin. I watch trailers and that's it. I don't need to see the same phony interviews over and over and over. Same cookie cutter questions followed by the same cookie cutter answers.

All that PR stuff just creates awareness.

Most people don’t follow movies like we do here.

I dont know that the Imax showing in Czech Republic is a good representation of how well Blue Beetle will do overall.

But maybe??

I don't know if I'll get a chance this weekend again to see a movie, but I'll try to consider this one if possible and if I have the free time to see Blue Beetle.

I just wish we got to see more of what to expect with the action, or if this is mostly a dramatic film with just hints of action. Kind of like Power Rangers was with only the last act being pure action. I don't need John Wick 4 levels of endless action, but John Wick 1's amount of action is perfect IMO for an action super hero film.

My guess he'll have to get used to the suit, have some fun stopping low level criminals, be attacked by the big bad or henchman, have second thoughts, decides he has to fight in the end battle.

Got my ticket for Thursday. First time that I reserved a seat days in advance. I usually order my ticket a few hours before the movie starts. There are 8 tickets sold so far.

Any reason to watch this movie in a IMAX theater? Might see this on Friday, but think it'll just be a Standard theater in my local Cinemark.

For the 5 showings in CinemaxX tomorrow opening day, they've sold 0 seats out of ~520 seats available atm.

https://cinemaxx.dk/aarhus/film/blue...m02tuycw4oxwba

The Blue Beetle IMAX showings look disastrous as well. Oppenheimer and Barbie are still doing great.

Gran Turismo has sold 18 seats so far; also opening day tomorrow.

Looks like two huge box office flops to me.

LOL, my local downtown Montreal theater has this playing on ONE screen!

And Oppenheimer gets to keep it's IMAX screen.
