I don't think that I have ever had this many arrive all at once.

I may well have ordered more than this many at the same time, but such orders usually get busted up into several smaller shipments that arrive on different days.

Case in point: I ordered 18 titles from Amazon on Monday and they have been shipped in SIX separate packages and are estimated to arrive on different days. Amazon must love to pay for shipping; you'd think they would be better at minimizing the number of shipments necessary to fill just one order.

Your TV is 20" smaller, a model year behind, has worse local dimming, worse black uniformity, lower nits, and it lacks Dolby Vision support.

Your headphones merely simulate Atmos and for only one person. Simulate is not the real thing. Your $290 headphones (current price at Walmart) can not compete with a properly placed and well powered multi-speaker Atmos surround sound arrangement.

If more than one person wants to watch with you then everyone has to listen to crappy TV speakers.

Lastly, you stream everything and that means lower quality from the get go. It also means that you don't own anything.

You and I in no way have "almost the same thing."

From alchav's perspective every TV and sound system is exactly the same: it's all digital.

The Kino Lorber edition of The Big Country reportedly fixes a stretched image problem with the earlier MGM edition.

Long Day's Journey Into Night (2018) is a 3D title.
LDJIN is very interesting, it’s kind of hypnotic in 3D.

My iPhone built in speaker is ATMOS!

[Show spoiler]

ATMOS can scale to whatever your sound system configuration is even if it's a tiny speaker in a phone.

An iPhone can be a complete home theater but some people want more.

Seriously doubt his headphones even receive height sounds. Probably connected with S/PDIF or analog out from his TV. Even if connected with ARC still may not get Atmos to the headphone interface box.

He’s bulcrapping beyond belief. His headphones does not do anything beyond 2.0 input and processing the sound to Dolby Pro Logic Headphone. The ONLY headphones that actually take pure Atmos and DTS:X without conversion is the JVC XP-EXT1. Other headphones even the ones that claim atmos takes Atmos/X signal and convert them into spatial audio before sending the signal to the headphones

It appears even that one does not do eARC so a good streaming box* would be needed as well.

People talk about physical media struggling but I would love to see how digital sales did if they had to wait till a month after the physical release.

I just ignore the online release date if it's something I want to see or buy.

Which do you think is more profitable to the studios?

Which one do you think ?

Producing and selling a disc: One time cost

Producing and selling digital: Maintaining a server into perpetuity.

If you had to sell a movie or tv show what are some of the most expensive things you could sell?

Digital collectors you can answer also though I'm pretty sure the amount most of your collections worth is zero.

It would be if all you did was produce a single disc but that isn't the case. You need all the in house support to make discs for consumers.

The studios don't because they don't sell directly to consumers. You buy digital movies from 3rd parties who keep 15% of the selling price and send the rest to the production studio. They maintain the servers not the studios.

That doesn't seem to bother consumers.

For the year 2022 in No. America - the largest market - total disc sales were $1,582 billion down 19.77% while EST sales were $2,512 billion up 1.65%

So now you can understand why EST comes out before physical media.

BTW - it's what the studios think not what a bunch of people on a disc based forum think. They are controlling the market.
