Hi James It's not a clone of the italian disc if it is 1080i/50. The italian disc is 1080p 24fps and I believe it has the correct pitch audio.
(btw, if the spanish release is 1080p it *could* possibly be a clone. I've seen PAL references on plenty spanish covers which contained proper 1080p/24 fps films. sometimes they use the same cover-templates for BDs and DVDs).

Criterion has a 2009 release of REPULSION on BD that remains in print. I don't think they'll go to the trouble of putting it OOP when they don't have to, and when nobody is noticing it and commenting on it.

However, I don't think they want Polanski's name showing up in their monthly release announcements, which would happen if they announced a UHD upgrade. Those announcements get picked up and posted as news all over the web.

They have not announced a new Polanski title since MACBETH in 2014, and I don't think they ever will again.

Also, I don't think there's an existing 4K master of that film, I've never heard about one.

Frantic deserves much better than the double flick on one disc release by Warner back in the day, and it would be great if Death and the Maiden got a quality release.

Right now I just want CHINATOWN in 4K and really don't care about any other of his films. I saw THE TENANT upon initial release in a theater and thought it was abysmal. I recently watched it again just to confirm and it was confirmed. I am not a big fan of his, but I think CHINATOWN is absolutely perfect in every respect so none of his other efforts can match that, understandably. I've heard THE GHOST WRITER is great so I'll have to check that one out. Not sure I need it on 4K though. I wonder what the holdup on CHINATOWN is?

I love Ghost Writer. Its a little dry, but the story is unique, the mystery keep you engaged, and it has pretty good rewatch value.

Wow, I've never had a video file refuse to play in a certain browser, but you were right. The trailer is in some weird file format that Firefox is incapable of displaying.

I tried it in Chrome, and the video itself loads, but it keeps freezing the page. I think the video and the "Listen to this Article" audio file are overwhelming the browser on my work computer.

I'll try again using Chrome at home tonight.

In addition, he's famous for giving line readings and even showing movements and gestures he wants actors to make, which is normally taboo for directors to do. I love watching his movies and seeing his actors in moments where I can totally tell he demonstrated a mannerism for the actor and they reproduced it.

Has Paramount ever done one? I think they just do normal UHDs with slipcovers for catalog titles.
