I bought two. The one I'm using now I bought at Walmart because the first one, which I bought at Best Buy, wasn't long enough to extend to my projector without moving either it or the receiver. The shorter cable is fast enough for 10K! The long one was 50 feet long and I only bought it because neither Walmart or Best Buy had any 25 foot cables that would have been an adequate speed.

The length definitely matters.

Passive copper hdmi cables should be no longer than 10 feet for 4K video. Beyond that length requires a more specialized solution. Active fiber optic hdmi cables are sometimes recommended for long cable runs, but these have an audio downside to them or you can use hdmi signal boosters as described in the article below.

I would suggest shopping here for your HDMI Cables: https://www.monoprice.com/category/cables/hdmi-cables

A lot of them are certified. Although Walmart and Best Buy sell HDMI cables, they aren't always reliable. Plus, they can cost an arm and a leg compared to the ones at Monoprice.
