So would you put your money on a declining Market?
If you ran a company, you'd run it right into the ground.

4K is a blu-ray format; the official name for them by the Blu-ray Disc Association is: Ultra HD Blu-ray.

"The preliminary spec for 4K discs was revealed at CES 2015, after which the Blu-ray Disc Association made the Ultra HD Blu-ray spec official (along with the name and the logo)."

Do try and make up your mind:

The average blu-ray price reported by Media Play News includes all of the blu-ray formats: blu-ray, 3D blu-ray, and Ultra HD Blu-ray. You guessed right the first time.

If you are going to attribute a statement to anyone other than yourself, you need to cite a source. If Walmart really believes that $15 BS that you made up, then why do they routinely sell discs costing twice that much both online and in store? My last disc purchase at Walmart was for the 4K edition of Spider-man Across The Spider-verse for $29.96; proof positive that you are just making stuff up as you go.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Spider-Ma...0&from=/search

Countless more examples where that one came from, too. Walmart apparently ignores their own advice by offering discs at prices nobody is willing to pay.

And while I tried to stay on top of canceling any automatically sent titles I didn't want, there would be occasions where one would slip through and just annoy me.

With the currently announced shows, I'd like to get them on both BD and 4K (would prefer combo packs, but they opted to sell the formats separately), so the club discount would help ease the cost of that.

But I need to weigh the benefits against other required purchases to meet the club purchase requirements.
While I have never had anything ship to me that I did not want, I prevent that possibility by not allowing the Disney Movie Club to have a payment method stored on file. When I buy something I make certain that the "store this payment method" option is unchecked.

Speaking of Media Play News here is a story about streaming that comes as no surprise:

Report: 40% of Streaming Video Subs Considering Dropping Service Over Next 12 Months

https://www.mediaplaynews.com/simon-...ext-12-months/

Highlights from the article include:

"Nearly 40% of surveyed streaming video subscribers are considering canceling service within the next year, even before considering price increases. Another 16% would consider canceling service if the monthly fee increased no more than 10%."

"The data suggests that the current perceived price-value positioning leaves little headroom for straightforward price increases among SVOD platforms, according to the report. Price increases without also increasing the perceived product value could be costly for both global and local streaming providers, leading to risks of cancelations in a competitive market."

"Apple TV+ has approximately twice the expected churn compared to the other major players. Netflix and Prime Video fare better, with Netflix having 16% and Amazon having 19% of users considering canceling within the next year, while Disney+ sits at 24%."

Churn, baby, churn.

It looks like streaming's customers are finally realizing that they are paying more and getting less.

The 4k Blu-ray sets of the Disney+ shows have been removed entirely from Disney Movie Club and the Blu-ray sets are no longer eligible for any discounts. I joined again specifically to get discounts on those sets but they've pulled a bait-and-switch.

I certainly won't ever join Disney Movie Club again.

I bet that they will put those listings back up eventually. They may have been swamped with pre-orders and then decided to pull the listings until they can obtain enough of a supply to meet a demand that they likely greatly underestimated.

Exactly the type of outcome that I was hoping for. Getting different positive perspectives sounds like a very welcome boost, plus you are already positive thinking so it’s a double win.

But Alchav said disc is dying, so how can they be swamped with orders? It obviously just costs too much to manufacture the discs.

I'm not bothered by the fact that some of the sets sold out that's just them underestimating demand (like you said). I'm bothered by the fact that they made the remaining sets ineligible for discounts. The primary reason to join the Disney Movie Club is for the discounts. I'm sure that they are well aware of this but they removed the discount right after lots of people joined the club specifically to buy the new releases they announced.

I expect the 4K sets to re-appear but they will likely be ineligible for discounts just like the Blu-ray sets.

I bet there's a large group of people that don't actively campaign for Physical Media but still prefers to own things.

I have the double effect in that I prefer to own things and I don't like to pay for something I don't completely use.

I'm not one of those people that like to get a mystery box filled with otherwise unmarketable random stuff.

I do still have some streaming subscriptions but I'm trying to get rid of them because I don't use them and I don't even want to use them.

edit - Terrifier Blu Ray is on "sale" which to me suggests a UHD will be announced. Having seen this movie I think the HD version is going to be good enough for me so I ordered the Blu.

Release date is Dec. 12th - that's 3 months from now. Plenty of time to meet demand.

They were probably upset by the high demand which drove home how stupid the plan to market them with Disney+ was.

I enjoyed Terrifier 2 way more than the original. The third film is coming next year.

Flabbergasted at the "animated, will pass" statement. Why would you completely discredit anything that is animated? Spiderverse was great.

I also don't get judging the film without seeing it. Now I hardly blind buy, but at least if a lot of people say a film is good, chances are I'll will like it. So it's worth seeing before deciding to buy at least. I thought Oppenheimer was one of the best films I've seen this year (though that was in the BFI IMAX, an ideal place to see it).

Some folks don’t like animation.

Just how it goes.

My neighbor doesn’t like subtitles or captions.

Just how it goes. Plenty of content for everyone.

That seems like less "not liking something" and more intentionally restricting yourself. Films with subtitles and animation is not a genre or type of film, there is a wide variety in there.

No, he has a different type of Amyloidosis.

[Show spoiler]He has what is called AL Light Chain, which is actually the most common type of Amyloidosis and it is the most lethal form when diagnosed late. It is treated with chemotherapy and other medications that are different from what I take.

I have Hereditary Amyloidosis Transthyretin Cardiomyopathy, which is abbreviated hATTR-CM . It is often just called Hereditary Amyloidosis.

Both diseases damage the heart and other organs, but they create the harmful amyloid proteins by entirely different mechanisms thereby necessitating different treatments.

It was great talking to him as he has defied the odds with this most deadly form of the disease. He said that he was given up for dead from the outset. His optimism was infectious even with all that he has been through and is still going through.

Have posted my position about movies here several times but since you are fairly new: Camera work - most movies that use handheld, shaky camera will get ejected. Changing aspect (Nolan and others) during a movie is dumb and many agree with me. If you ever procure a scope screen (2.35 or 2.40) then you may or may not agree with us. Looked at the trailers for several of these and passed. Have several animated movies and like the ones we have, most are in 3-D.

Look here for the best selling Blu-ray and you will see there are not many from the last 7 to 8 years.

And the big question, why did you not do your own comments for each movie listed.
