I in particular loved that bit where Ahsoka lost the lightsaber on purpose (just like Luke of course). For the significance of that, see the video essay below:

I didn't like Episode 5. Felt like what happened to Lost or Battlestar where the scriptwriter had no idea how to explain the WTF Moment, so they use some Fan Service, some Action and hope no one will see that they have bo idea and so lets use the force as an excuse.
Also the story of the episode could have been told within 5 Minutes. So it felt more like a filler episode.
I am worring that the serie now already jump the shark.

[Show spoiler]I wanted some sort of reconciliation between Master Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. I think we got that, hopefully the next 2 episodes will set us up well for a possible series finale.

I would like at least 2-4 seasons of this but 1 is good enough. Been waiting for a series like this since Episode III ended.

With her popularity, I can see them riding this for a while. I really hope they do.
[Show spoiler]And honestly I wouldn’t be mad if they wanted to do full on live action reenactments of the clone wars battles. More than just foggy quick glimpses. Go crazy with it, Dave!

I love that Dave and Hayden nailed Anakin's combat style. ABSOLUTE FIRE! And this was the line I was waiting for: "You're never too old to learn." -Anakin speaking from deep-rooted experience.

I really enjoyed the interaction between the two of them tonight, and it was really cool how they incorporated the battle sequences. Tonight's episode just made me feel happy.

He was involved in Book of Boba Fett and Mando Season 3, his Bad Batch series is rarely discussed, there's a lot of filler and disappointing writing in the early seasons of Clone Wars (I hope I never see a Hutt imitating Truma Capote again), but how much blame for Fett and and S3 of Mando can actually be ascribed to him is some inside baseball I'm not privy to.

Good episode, best of the series so far.

Hera is now my least favorite character (it was emo blonde before). That actress is the worst ever. She simply cannot act. Ewan should have an easy time determining when she is lying in real life.

Jacen. Good to see more of him with his force abilities.

WBW. A lot of great scenery, was really powerful. But yet again, Anakin/Darth Vader can NEVER defeat her. Filoni, you suck and cheapen the Dark Lord of the Sith's image with every new scene you create of him.

De-aging of Anakin. All in all, well done.

Young Ahsoka. I like her more than I do Dawson with her wooden acting, although she finally smiled at the end, so thank the Maker for that.

I look forward to the Unknown Regions in the next episodes.

Rating this one a 7.5/10.

Do you even know what that term means or you just heard it a few times and decided to start using it without even understanding its meaning?

The series is garbage so far, and they are already throwing in fan service:
  • The series should have been animated, the live action looks terrible due to low budget. The inside scenes in early episodes looked as bad as the original trilogy, the costumes poor, and they lost the atmosphere (i.e. witches) in scenes. Just compare the flash back to Clone Wars, to the Clone Wars animated series.
  • There is no attempt to provide any background for people that have not seen Rebels, reducing the audience.
  • The series makes the fatal mistake of constantly telling what happened, rather than actually showing us.
  • How Ahsoka discovered the map, what happened between Ahsoka & Sabine after Rebels, Sabine's losses were never shown.
  • The characters actions (Ahsoka leaving Sabina to battle Shin, Sabine's betrayal) don't make sense, based on what is shown (not told), it feels like they threw away all previous character development in previous series.
  • The push to make Sabina another Jedi, instead of taking advantage of the unique mix of a Jedi & Mandalorian working together.
  • Hera's appeals to the Senate not mentioning any of the actual facts, on screen at least. Even if they ignore the Thrawn threat, the ramifications of opening up to a new galaxy are enormous.
  • The world between worlds scenes with Anakin were just pointless fan service, they failed to even show any inner conflict beforehand.
  • Using the Purrgil to travel between galaxies when they don't know the destination is madness, and I didn't think their decisions could get any worse. Giving Jacen the same ability as Ezra would have been a better idea, with him happening to discover that, rather the sensing the world between worlds.

Ahsoka will do the exact opposite of what Disney wants, it will destroy many Rebels fans interest in the Star Wars franchise. 5 episodes into an 8 episode series, and barely anything has happened. I have seen 12-22 minute cartoon series that offered far more than an single episode of this series.

My mind is blown that some people are unhappy with this episode.

10/10 for me and I got all of the emotions from it.

I never watched rebels - just a 15 min catch-up YouTube vid. I was a tad cold on the series start, it grew on me a bit and has now absolutely caught fire.

Edit - I can only imagine even how much better this series is for the people who know rebels through and through.

Of Course I know that. It origin from Happy Days were Fonzy jumped a Shark and it was the highest Level the Series ever reached, after that it never reached the Quality ever again. (I only watched a few Episodes Happy Days when a was a child, so I don't know when it was good or not)

And so now they use the term when a series was good and then went down and never reached the level again.

I really enjoyed the first 4 Episodes of Ashoka but this for me was a Moment like in Lost, like the writer doesn't know how to tell the story after the Ending of Episode 4, so what they to they create one Fan Service Moment after another and hope the Spectatur doesn't recognize the weakness in the non existing Story. If the Episode is like only 5 Minutes and erase everything else of the episode, you wouldn't miss anything of the story, because there wasn't anything more. Just some Fan Service Action without any meaning.

And I loved Clone Wars, did't like Bad Batch much and really hated Rebels.

Have we even figured out when Ahsoka takes place? People are conflicted about whether it takes place concurrently with Mando Season 2's back-half, between Mando Season 2 and 3, during Mando Season 3, or after Mando Season 3.

Well, if she has now become Ahsoka The White and that’s her permanent look from now then that would possibly mean this takes place sometime after her appearance in TBOBF.

I agree that people disliking this episode or heck the series overall are out to lunch. But, giving it a perfect score is nearly as bad. this is between a 6.5-7.5
