I've been collecting since 1992. I spent my first paycheck on movies, straight out of High School. I regularly purchased VHS tapes ranging from $30 to $80 or more. I don't count that era, though, but if I did, I'd be looking at substantially higher amounts.

Not now, but in the near future it might go OOP as Warner's rights to that catalog have clearly expired.

Shout did get Dr. Giggles originally from Warner in prior deals but was constantly pushed back due to transfer and extras work delayed during the Lockdowns.

I had emailed Shout about Dr. Giggles and they told me they're able to keep it in print since it was grandfathered in the Intermedia deal. Shout also has physical rights to most of the Intermedia controlled titles with some exceptions:

Affliction (which remains with Lionsgate in the US until 2024)

Meet Wally Sparks (with Lionsgate)

Mulholland Falls (with MGM)

This World Then The Fireworks (in which video/theatrical rights reside with MGM, unknown if in perpetuity or lapse after a certain year lease)

City of Industry (see above)

Box Of Moonlight (which co-producer Lakeshore now controls in the US)

White Squall (with Disney in most regions)

G.I. Jane (ditto)

Vampires (with Sony)

Finding Graceland (US streaming rights seem to be with Sony, unsure about other rights)

Under Pressure/Bad Day on the Block (see above)

Shadow of Doubt (ditto)

Malcolm X (remains with Warner in the US and UK)

The Proprietor (might still be with Warner in the US, but Merchant Ivory seems to control most auxiliary rights overseas)

Kissing a Fool (with Universal)

Grey Owl (controlled by AMBI in the US with Samuel Goldwyn distributing)

I believe Intermedia now owns one Largo title that was co-produced with another company (Penta Pictures) with the distributor's US rights having expired.

29th Street (released by Fox in the US, Penta overseas, and by Largo in some places like Australia and Latin America)

Since I went ahead and made a thread for it (hopefully not prematurely ), I'm going to post one of the titles Shout will be releasing in upcoming months. I'll post others, some I've mentioned before, in the next few days.

Shout! Factory will be releasing Kathryn Bigelow's Point Break (1991) on 4K UHD! I don't have a release date yet, but it should be for either December, or January. I'll update the thread when I get more info.

After a string of bizarre bank robberies in Southern California, with the crooks donning masks of various former presidents, a federal agent, Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves), infiltrates the suspected gang. But this is no ordinary group of robbers. They're surfers -- led by the charismatic Bodhi (Patrick Swayze) -- who are addicted to the rush of thievery. But when Utah falls in love with a female surfer, Tyler (Lori Petty), who is close to the gang, it complicates his sense of duty.

I guess 3 of these could be Scream Factory titles, but it's probably unlikely all 3 would be part of the line. I could see Unlawful Entry coming under that banner though.

I mechanically bought that a few years ago during an online Target sale, blissfully unaware of a remake. Immediately sold it off without even watching it once I got it. I wouldn't be surprised if that's a sizeable percentage of that movie's sales.

Very excited for the real deal, such a classic.

So the Warner-Largo Entertainment partnership was just a run of the mill distribution deal? Couldn't WB just renew the contract or is that a different ballgame? It just boggles my mind that studios even bother making deals with other production companies if they do very little with the content. Look at Lionsgate and Studiocanal. LG barely touched the catalog.

It's worth a watch in 3D, not sure I'd watch it any other way though.
