1. Does Imprint have sales like Kino and Shout?
2. To anyone who has participated in it, how are the savings?
3. Is there still the $30 shipping fee applied to orders?
Thanks

Was wondering this myself. JB has 20% off now so it's down to $72.

I already own Career Opportunities from Kino Lorber, and just couldn't pull the trigger for two latter day JC films.

My replacement copy of Some Girls from Kino just happened to arrive yesterday and I watched it last night. I was so charmed by her performance that I went ahead and ordered the boxset. She's just so good, (doesn't hurt my wife and her look identical when they were young).

I can sell my other copy of Career Opportunities lol.

The box arrived in Estonia and I watched all the movies tonight.

Career Opportunities ☆
What a load of bad writing. Good picture quality (as much as my eyes can tell).

Waking the Dead ☆☆½
Starts weak, ends strong. Lots of edge halation (and probably other issues).

House of Sand and Fog ☆☆☆½
Really good movie with some minor (IMHO) issues of being too melodramatic. Lots of edge halation (and probably other issues).

A bit of a mixed bag. Don't think I'll be going back to Imprint, importing from so far is too expensive for this kind of picture quality.

Note that I have a large screen of 150" projected directly onto an imperfect wall with 6-7 year old projector model. I might notice some kind of PQ issues more than others, but edge halation is the main thing that often bothers me.

What does hailation mean are you referring to edge enhancement and ringing

Halos around contrasty edges so yes maybe the same as ringing. Not enhancement, this was probably just from poor optical scan or that’s what I imagine.

[edit] On second thought it might be edge enhancement artifacts also, looked very similar to what's here for example: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film3/blu-r...ca_blu-ray.htm
Maybe not quite as bad. I'm not an expert and I didn't pause the video to look at it in detail.

For me, its about the extras and the hardbox, but I have taken a step back from Imprint. Not too say I won't still pick stuff up, but went from a near completionist, to maybe getting 1-2 per drop, next month its two hardboxes for Cross of Iron 4K and Alfredo Garcia!

Do they typically release boxset titles individually later on? I want House of Sand and Fog but not the other two.

But none were touted as remasters, so the picture quality is exactly what people expected them to be — older masters.

I bought the box for Career Opportunities, currently selling Waking the Dead on the Bay that starts with an e if anyone cares to take a look (House of Sand and Fog is already gone).

I'm actually a little pissed that they've now released Career Opportunities as a stand alone, as that was the only one I really wanted on Blu (I already had House on DVD and Waking the Dead turned out to be a very dour watch). But oh well, can't win them all...
