Lightbulb 3D Blu-ray and 3D Movies forum

I really feel like this should be split into two subforums. Once a 3D release is confirmed, start a new thread, or move the thread from Movies into Blu-rays. I see the value of the threads about 3D movies for which there is no Blu-ray, but these days it is really cluttering the forum when I want to find and read the threads that are actually about releases. Yes, the thread titles do a good job of making the distinction, but given the current landscape, it is still a lot of clutter when I want to pick out the most recent threads that are about Blu-rays.

I know that others feel the same way. Members have been advised many times to stop making threads in that subforum for movies that don’t have a confirmed Blu-ray release, but for whatever reason (so that they can be the thread owner?), they keep making them anyway.

The main section of the forum has distinct subforums for discussion of movies (and TV shows) and then separate sections for Blu-ray releases. Can we please do the same here?

Can we unsticky some of these threads? The last discussion in this thread was over 2 years ago. And there are other sticky threads here as well that haven’t been active for 2-3+ years, and arguably the topics aren’t really worthy of being a sticky. Too many sticky threads clutters a forum.

Edit: Also, there are way too many stickies in the Blu-ray section as well, and some of those threads arguably should be in this General forum instead.

The 3D movies forum has one thread per 3D movie, whether it has a 3D Blu-ray release or not. If a film is released on 3D Blu-ray all the important consumer info is put into thread titles and first posts. That seems to me to be the least cluttered way of going about it but all views are welcome.

As for advising against thread creation, I personally welcome it when a thread is created for a 3D movie - ideally I would like to see a thread in the forum for every 3D movie. There are general discussion threads already for pretty much everything else...

Any suggestions for which ones?

is there a way to make a custom list, or to had a 3D movie filter on my collection? I pretty much only buy 3D discs and 4K discs. I'd like to have a list with only 3D so I can better keep track. There doesn't seem to be that option.

Go to your Collection page. Click on Manage Categories. Scroll down to Add Custom Category. There you can add any category you want.

You can also use the Search Collection (check the 3D box) in unison with the country flags at the top of the page. This only gives you a temporary list, not a permanent one.

At last, I managed to create my 3D section. It required taking a class on setting it up, but I succeeded. In fact, I acquired the knowledge this morning from the discussion thread titled "How many 3D Blu-rays do you own?"
