Which just replaces the Shout! Factory branding, correct?

They couldn't even get Eli Roth to do a sit down interview so they'd have something "new" in the special features?

Considering they interviewed him on their release of The Green Inferno, I’d assume they would have had him involved with this in some way.

Personal guess is the strikes hampered any attempt at getting his involvement, so they didn’t add any new features to the release.

The directors guild isn't on strike though, so the strikes shouldn't have prevented him from doing something for the movie.

I've been kind of disappointed in general with scream factory special features. I remember getting Halloween 2 on blu ray from them about 11 years ago. They had 2 new commentaries. 1 with the director and 1 with Dick Warlock. They also had an awesome "making of" documentary with tons of the cast interviewed.

They did something similar for Halloween H20 on 4K, but for the most part they don't seem to do a lot of cool bonus features anymore.

Eli didn't write this but he's part of the WGA and MGM (who released the film) are a "struck company" according to the WGA strike. According to the strike rules he shouldn't be actively promoting any films by a "struck company" which would include recording new extras for a bluray.

It’s not as good as the first film IMO but still a good serial killer triller. I was wondering who would release this one, I’m definitely in for it.

Thank you for the heads up. I did get my shipping notice this morning. Can't wait to watch all the new extras and NOTD in 4k.

interview with/on the playlist:

As he’s said in the past, Dominik said folks like the Criterion Collection—who you would think would be dying to release it—weren’t interested. In that comment, he spoke about the real length of the extended cut.

“Listen, we tried to get Warner Bros. to allow us to release a longer version of it,” he explained. “They’re not interested in doing it, and I think somebody tried to petition Criterion to do it. Criterion were not interested in Jesse James. There is a better version of Jesse James—in my opinion—that’s about 15 minutes longer. And that’s the one that Roger was talking about. He’s never seen one that’s longer than that.”

Jesse James not "significant" enough for Criterion? Lol. Meaning not dull and pretentious enough? I've never seen the film but am aware it exists and now I'm going to make it a point to buy a copy and watch it, if, for anything, to watch my first Brad Pitt flop

I admit that I'm not really a superhero/comic book guy but because it also kind of bleeds into the horror genre...
I wouldn't mind having Scream Factory or Warner Archive release Spawn (1997) on 4K UHD with both the director's cut and the original theatrical version included.

I'm pretty sure that I haven't seen this film in like 15+ years by now and it's starting to look like nostalgic late-90s fun.

Would love Spawn and Mortal Kombat 95 to get 4Ks soon. I could see Shout Factory doing both.
