No extras listed on the back of Tori so think I will wait for the Criterion, hopefully out by summer or autumn.

Anyone got the blu-ray of Never Gonna Snow Again?
How is it A/V wise and are there any extras?

No extras listed on No Bears, though at least it’s an affordable edition and will probably be months until Criterion gets around to it, and one of the few Iranian films to get a UK Blu-ray outside of Kiarostami, Farhadi and Makhmalbaf. Though considering Panahi’s wrongful incarceration (he’s released now), I wasn’t really expecting any kind of Q&A/interview.

Yep, just the trailer, although at least it hasn't been squeezed onto a BD-25.

EDIT: Something went a bit weird with the original scan. Rescan seems to have corrected it.

Yes I have it, haven't watched it yet though. There are no extras, save for the trailer (as per usual from Picturehouse).

Exactly. Just getting a blu ray release is worthy of celebration, but I would love someone to also put out Panahi's "Closed Curtain" on blu too. It is a fantastic film, and my favourite Panahi film since his "ban" on filmmaking.

I am also disappointed that outside of France, no one has bothered to release Mohammad Rasoulof's films in the hi-def format, which is a shame because he is a phenomenal filmmaker, with his two most recent films "A Man of Integrity" and "There Is No Evil" both being out-and-out masterpieces!!

So I applaud the fact that Picturehouse has seen fit to release "No Bears", even if it is essentially bare-bones.

Broker is one of Picturehouse’s most successful releases - it’s kept playing in their chain for months, even as other films they’ve distributed have departed quicker like Saint Omer (though The Night of the 12th has had a pretty respectable run) - I saw it on their busy NYD preview, so it’s welcome to see them releasing the film branded as a Special Edition with some extras, especially compared to NEON’s US release - though Shoplifters was also barebones and Air Doll light on extras.

Quote:
On a rainy night in Busan, So-young (Lee 'IU' Ji-eun) leaves her baby Woo-sung outside a 'baby box', a safe place set up in Korean churches for new mothers to leave unwanted infants.

Instead, he's picked up by Sang-hyun (Parasite's Song Kang-ho) who runs an unofficial adoption brokerage and plans to find him a new home.

So-young tracks down both Sang-hyun and his business partner Dong-soo (Gang Dong-won) and decides to join their pursuit (alongside a seven-year-old stowaway from a nearby orphanage), but as they search for Woo-sung's new family, the unlikely group evolves into something of a family themselves - unaware they're being tailed by two detectives (Bae Doona, Lee Joo-young) who are determined to stop them. Heartwarming, funny and moving, BROKER is the outstanding new film from Hirokazu Kore-eda, the acclaimed director of Shoplifters.

"One of the year's most delightful films" - BBC Culture
"A gentle joy, with a standout performance from Parasite's Song Kang-ho" - Time Out
"A film of effortless charm, grace and earthy humour" - Little White Lies
Empire
Mail on Sunday
Financial Times

Extras (Blu-ray only)
Making of BROKER
Behind the Scenes with Visual Commentary by Director Hirokazu Kore-eda
Cast Featurette
Interview with Director Hirokazu Kore-eda
Interview with Doona Bae
I assume these correlate with IVE’s Korean release, which includes what sound like the same extras but also two commentary tracks.

Though many releases are barebones, some Picturehouse releases do have solid extras, like The Party, The Wife, Woman at War, Nitram.

I had no idea that Saint Omer was released in April.

Also, Picture House are releasing Mother and Son in the near future (I hope): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mother-Son-...%2C360&sr=1-16

Awesome! Really liked this film but for a film this long and with no features I'll wait for a price drop for this one.

Paris Memories is up for pre-order on Amazon. Has a release date of 31 Dec 2025 which will no doubt be updated to something sooner.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Paris-Memor...d%2C508&sr=1-1

Hopefully somebody will release an English friendly Blu Ray of Cedric Jimenez's November (2022) which makes an excellent companion piece for Paris Memories.

November is being released on DVD in Australia this week but fingers crossed for a US or UK Blu Ray release in the near future.

Sadly the French Blu Ray & 4K releases of November don't appear to have English subtitles.

I’m a little bit frustrated their recent festival acquisitions aren’t hitting cinemas until next year: Monster (16th Feb), Fantastic Machine (15th Mar), Orlando My Political Biography (19th Apr)

Scrapper had a big turnout in Screen Unseen (though some walkouts), wonder if it might be as successful as Aftersun was for MUBI.

The Eight Mountains features a making of and trailer as extras. On the Pyramide release, the making of runs 15 minutes.

While the Janus Contemporaries release features a 20 minute Meet the Filmmakers interview, it’s also available on Criterion Channel and isn’t exclusive to the disc. I assume the making of on the Janus release is the same as the Picturehouse one. Similarly, the Janus releases of T&L and No Bears only feature short streaming extras, meaning the barebones Picturehouse releases for half the price might be the better option.

As expected, no extras listed on the back of War Pony - though I doubt it will ever get a US Blu-ray, despite being an American film and indigenous story, considering Momentum were the US distributor (VOD arm of eOne), who are being folded into Lionsgate and don’t know how they will exploit that library.

Yikes! Just saw the cover for “R.M.N”, and it’s dreadful!! It doesn’t come close to representing the type of film that this is. Looks something like a wacky comedy rather than the serious drama that it is.

Still, I’m just happy to see that it is getting an English friendly release. Great film!

I guess it matches the UK posters, but I would agree it doesn't look like the film I imagine R.M.N. is! (Having not yet seen it.)
