Retailer perhaps?

correct..., read again.

Shrek 3 is announced for November 13. Which I find rather odd, I think it will be destroyed by Ratatouille, Cars and Pixar Shorts residual sale from the previous week.

Yeah the list I grabbed was just exclusive titles on each side. Warner has a lot of neutral titles in there as well. Hopefully they will also add all those HD only titles like Matrix and Batman Begins to the BD list by the holidays.

As for HD's 125 titles, on one day Warner is reissuing at least 11 titles. This is going against BD releasing a dozen new titles that same day.

Thanks. but counting the exclusive and non-exclusive title, it does not add up to 125. Hopefully, this is it for HD DVD release date.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to the "We are going to have 800 titles by the end of the year?"

I think they flushed that idea, much in the same way that Toshiba flushed their chances at profit without selling land or pieces of their company.

Oh yeah, Microsoft, them... they're a REAL big supporter of HD-DVD when their hand gets caught in the Paramount cookie jar they pull it out and swear up and down that they had nothing to do with it.

I swear to god that one of the questions in the interview for Microsoft is "have you ever cheated on your taxes or a significant other?" and if the answer is "yes" then you're in, as you have low enough morals to work for Microsoft.

By the end of the holidays we're going to see some pretty impressive numbers out of the Blu-Ray camp.

Highly agree, the amount of exclusive movies that Blu is going to be pumping out this holiday season is going to be insane. That ontop of CES:2k8, mmmmmm gives me a warm feeling inside.

I have seen a few Blu-ray ads, but so far I have only seen them on the HD channels.

don't you know: they are such a good liar. Sony always tell the truth, Toshiba always lie.

I believe that the Nielsen's this Friday are going to be big for Blu. We have an insane amount of releases in the next three-four months. We will ROLL over HD DUD.

ok, I'm going to predict 70:30 this week. Based on releases and that I see dvdempire has 69:31 for the past week, and they seem to favour HD DVD a bit.

Predicting 67/33, should be a lot better week for Blu, I can't wait till the Fox releases start hitting stores.

Default Question about Nielsen numbers

Just a quick question. Where do the majority of the Nielson numbers come from?

Mainly B&M stores or amazon or something else?

Thanks ahead of time.

Amazon is the only online-only retailer counted

The rest are the top 20 retail stores except wal mart, who refuses to provide numbers. However the sample from the rest is big enough, and the studios still see the numbers and they pretty much line up.
