That's the abridged version. The extended story is revealed in The Hunt.

(possibly not available yet on FAST )

What's some of the treasures you've found? YouTube has more hours of video than probably all films ever made yet who cares when 99.9% is crap.

Mekong Operation
Prometheus
The Wraith
Harlock Space Pirate

Just to name a few.

No Youtube for me. At least not on my TV. Only on my PC.

Fast content is utter shit. The same shows shared amongst 4 or five different services. Daytime junk 24 hours a day along with old rope like Baywatch, Hell’s Kitchen and other junk.

Once again, I don't care. I don't subscribe to Disney+. I don't own any Disney stock. I don't go to any of the Disney parks. The corporation could go out of business tomorrow and I wouldn't shed a single tear.

The service makes that determination. It's obvious as the nose on your face - which you can't see unless you cross your eyes, that the hosting companies like AWS are raising their prices too. Why not. Everything else is going up in price.

When it gets to $50, I'll drop Peacock. But I will remain with Paramount+ even if it's $50 all by itself. All my TV shows are there. It's my money and I will spend it as I see fit. Just like the people here are spending $200 to $500 a month feeding their new disc habits. They don't complain. Do they ever watch the same movie more than 2X? I strongly doubt it with the size of their collections.

Cable has ALWAYS cost money. FAST services like Freevee, Tubi, Roku and Filmrise are free. The first 3 have original content. The last is a "dumping ground" but there are some gems to watch.

Amazing that you have an opinion about something (FAST) yet you have no real experience with them.
Freevee needs an Amazon log in now. Plus, it seems to be the stuff they had on Prime but with ads now. Seems pointless.

Maybe for you it does need an Amazon log in because you are in the UK. Here in the US - you install the service and bingo - it's loaded. Its just another tile on my main page (Roku) like Tubi or Paramount+

I get to watch Bosch which was a Prime exclusive and Bosch Legacy which is a Freevee exclusive.

And best of all . . . . ITS FREE!!

So is Prime video because most people only pay for Prime for one day shipping. It’s just a bonus and even then, they want to stick ads on later this year.

Freevee is Amazon Prime video content 1 year later. It’s that simple. It’s stuff that’s already been watched on Prime.

Dear All

It’s with the greatest sadness that I have to announce that Zappiti will be over soon.
As you already know, we are fighting since January to keep our baby alive, but unfortunately Justice has refused to hear us….
We have done everything we could , we have worked without being paid to maintain customers happy waiting to have the Go to continue, but now the Cloud will be disconnected before the end of the year.

What does that mean for customers?

Zappiti Video will no longer work for the players and the NAS. Customers can always create an offline collection to keep it working even after the close down, but the new movies won’t be identified anymore.
Zappiti Explorer will still work and people will still be able to access their movies in their NAS or the internal HDD.
For the NAS owners, they will still be able to rip and to have access to their files. They will be able to keep their actual collection but with not further possibilities for identifying the new Movies on Zappiti video.

What do you tell to your customers?

That Zappiti is liquidated unfortunately, that we tried everything to continue but that we have been shut down for good

Is it really over?

We are working on a solution to propose to all the Zappiti users.

The plan is to install a new App, so they can continue to enjoy their Zappiti products. There will be a small fee for that App but at least they will be proposed a solution.
They will have to create a new account and a new collection, it’s impossible to retrieve the customer’s collection unfortunately. It will be based on a new cloud.

Repair and services

All players under warranty will be taken care by Let’s get Physical , the parts will be exchanged at no fees but the labor and shipping will be at customer’s expense.
The players out of warranty will be taken care of by Let’s get physical with the usual fees.

I will keep you all posted on the progress of the App

I’m terribly sorry for this situation that will put us all in a difficult position, but tell your customers that we are trying our best to find a way for a fair solution.

Warm regards

Never heard of this company before.

I believe Wendell uses a Zappiti system.

This is devastating news for anyone who bought the systems. Like when Kaliedescape went out of business but this time I don't expect Zapitti to bounce back. It does sound like a lot of the core functionality of the system will remain working.

I used to use a multiple NAS based home media server with Plex, JRiver, Infuse, and finally Zidoo Z9X. It makes organizing and accessing a collection easy after you do all the setup. The hard drives in such a system need to be replaced often and I put my 40TB NAS units away in storage. For now, I just play the discs as intended which works best for me.

I hate seeing movies on the freebie webpage like Nobody and Promising Young Woman.

Watching a feature length movie with breaks for ads robs you of experiencing it for the first time with a better presentation. I feel movies have a pace or they should in the best examples. TV Shows with ad breaks is natural so Bones and Lost and all the reality TV content make great ways to meet your addiction to watching Ads and using an hour to watch a 40 minute show.

Your local library may have movies for loan on physical media and a commercial free online service like Hoopla or Kanopy or both. I watched Lamb on Kanopy. They have a lot of Criterion and A24. No ad interruptions.

That is correct, a Zappiti NAS SE and Zappiti Neo player. The only thing that will change is the identification of ripped titles will no longer work. There is talk of new software being made available for a fee that will replace the functionality of Zappiti Video. The NAS is based on Windows, the player is based on Android.

In all probability I will procure a Dune player (here) if they come out with a new model based on the newer Realtek RTD1619BPD like Zidoo has done. Would do Zidoo but none of the newer models have Audio Only HDMI out like Zappiti and Dune has.

What’s the difference between Freevee and Prime Video?

Quote:
Both Amazon streamers are important. They have their own content and their own originals. You won’t find Prime Video originals on Freevee and vice versa. At least, not in the U.S. or the UK. You will find the Freevee content on the other Amazon site in other parts of the world as Freevee isn’t a global one just yet.

Why is something being free that attractive to you? I want the experience to be good. So you watch movies with a low quality stream with ads. If you like films wouldn't you want to see them under better circumstances? It's worth paying for.

And stop using some average person's mentality. They don't care about films. They just watch whatever is given to them. But for someone on Blu Ray website you'd think you held the medium in a higher regard...

There are better films on Freevee it seems than Pluto TV (although US has a different library than UK) but I would rather watch Big Lebowski on the 4k disc I have...
