Is the PQ of the first one better here than in the Kino release?
I want all them individually, since the cover arts match, but I can’t find a US release of the first one

They are different with pluses and minuses. Overall, I liked the PQ of the first one in the anthology box better than the Kino release. The Kino encode has more film grain preserved, but the Warner color timing and brightness, despite only being a minor adjustment, is decidedly superior IMO. Its a small tweak Warner made, but it makes a substantial difference in some scenes rendering better fleshtones and more appropriately rendered landscape vistas - a larger difference in motion than the difference in grain resolution.

You should check out what I did in this post's attachments re: the cases art:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=987

That art you see on the first one is the reverse side of the Shout collectors edition BD

Warner didn’t released the first one individually, right?
Wish I could snatch a copy of it, they did the right choice of cover art for the first three films

No, but you can get the Shout blu-ray collectors edition cheap off ebay and it has two options for cover art you can stick in a 4K case like i did, custom and the OG theatrical. I got mine for like $5 from hamilton book

I actually didnt like WB's custom art for this series, which is why I used old blu-ray releases for art for the first three. They match, in that all three are pretty close to the theatrical posters. they were all super cheap to obtain, too, in the cases i didnt have them already.

I don't know why anyone is spewing rubbish that the Warner disc is superior to the Kino disc of the first film.

Couldn’t resist and got Kino’s release on Amazon along The Road Warrior.
Tho I love Fury Road, I can wait for it… as for Thunderdome, I’ll wait til the price drops (for hell’s sake it isn’t worth 23 bucks)

Sorry if this has been asked and answered already, but is the WB 4K disc for the original MM supposed to have DV?

I know the Kino one does, and I know the WB set has the DV logo on the box and the MM 4K disc label, but my disc is only playing in HDR10.

It's the 4K disc from the blufans Anthology steelbook set for reference, and no there's nothing wrong with my setup to not correctly output DV.

Warner disc is HDR10 only.

Same, I have the Black & Chrome Fury Road blu, KL's MM UHD, but need the rest of the UHD's. Anthology set seems like the least expensive router, but I am waiting for Black Friday.
The set should have the corrected RW discs, right?

Yes, both the Mad Max 2/The Road Warrior and the Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome discs are corrected now in the 4K anthology set.

Additionally, this is a 4K discs only set so if you want the Blu Rays for all the movies, I'd recommend picking up the High-Octane Set for that, as well as all the extras.

I compared both in motion, the Kino disc has slightly more grain evident, the Warner disc IMO has a superior color grade and brightness. Prominence of grain should not be the only factor to assess PQ by, as the Warner's benefits were more noticable than the Kino's as they don't require CAH Ultra-Zoom to detect and affect the whole picture; this is easy to prove objectively, as if you zoom out to reduce the size of the cap to 6" wide the Warner improved brightness/color is still plainly obvious, while you have to zoom in at full screen 200% to start to see any grain difference. This is a nuanced take, but a more balanced one IMO.

I'm not saying the Warner disc is horrible. I am simply saying the Kino is superior.

Damn... the closest Cinemark is way too far from me to justify even seeing one of those.
