I always loved that line and Annie's delight at finally getting Laurie to open up. People* have often described Annie (or maybe it's Nancy) as "horrible". I couldn't disagree more. Annie and Laurie appear to be old friends. Annie is maturing and growing confident and outgoing. Laurie far more inside herself and cautiously circumspect of the outside world. But it makes Annie joyful to hear Laurie slowly coming out of her shell and she doesn't waste time making her friend feel included when she realises this. It's also pretty slick that she calls (or claims to have called) Ben on Laurie's behalf and gets her to look after Lindsey in exchange for calling Ben back and cancelling their "date", rather than offering to call Ben and asking if he wants to go on a date with Laurie. It's win-win for both of them. Annie rules, in my book. ![]() (*People = dipshits) Last edited by Martoto; 10-06-2023 at 12:59 PM. |

I've always enjoyed how Laurie and Alice from Friday the 13th both do joints and live as the final girls. Shows that really you don't have to be totally good and pure to survive these films haha.

You could be getting case muck regrowing on your disc, especially if it's been awhile. I wipe all UHDs down now before each play, I rarely get issues. Or your player is just becoming finnicky with certain discs as it ages, basically more sensitive to defects even if you don't see them, it can happen. The fastest I ever had a brand new movie rot and become unplayable was like 5 years, I'd say the disc might be fine. Shout would probably fix it for you if you ask.

There is a Spanish release that (probably) uses Shout's 4K transfer: https://www.amazon.es/Halloween-Remasterizado-Postales-Limitada-Numerada/dp/B096YXY91L

I am not as sophisticated, generally, when it comes to picture quality.
As I’ve posted Marnie Blu-ray is the worst transfer I’ve seen. I bought the Lionsgate Halloween 4K at Target for I think $10 and thought the picture quality was very good. I also thought the Blu-ray’s for II and III from Universal looked great I thought IV didn’t look great so a member on here told me Shout IV was an improvement so I bought it during last year’s sale and he was right. Unless I, II and III go below $15 I’ll wait, probably for a long time. |

I was just listening to the OG soundtrack earlier for the first time in, oh, maybe about 12 months

Hey gang, need your expert hivemind to help out my OCD.
I've got so many editions of Halloween lyin' around (it's one of my Top Five favorite flicks, after all) and trying to consolidate all the best parts. My go-to viewing disc is the Shout UHD -- absolutely love it -- and I'm also keeping the matching Blu-ray from that UHD release, as well as the Blu-ray-with-the-original-mono from the boxed set, which looks a little different 'cuz it was taken from an IP instead of OCN. Now my question is: how best to preserve that olde timey Anchor Bay version; the one with the "original color timing", lol. I heard tell around these parts that the version that comes with the Shout UHD is more heavily compressed than previous versions. I'm wondering: is there a clear winner between the OG Anchor Bay Blu-ray release and the "original timing" disc released in that Halloween boxed set? Or are those two basically identical? |
