I get it’s supposed to look like a mural with the 3 steelbooks, but it doesn’t look that great to fork over that much money. Now it’s sold out, but I’m good with each individual steelbook of the trilogy when it was first released.

Dammit. Got mine today and it has a gigantic dent in the front side. Box was pristine, so it was knowingly packaged that way. Bravo, Best Buy. Bravo.

Does anyone know what time Best Buy makes them available to purchase online for in store pick up? I know it’s usually the night before.

got mine in the mail today-mint mint mint.killer set -have them as individual steelbooks but this was to great to pass up.so glad i snagged it

Sometimes people just sell the boxes on eBay and other collectors put different steelbooks in them. For example I love these Steelbook metal box sets but I don't like the steels for this one, would love the box to put the steelbooks I already have in it.

And I'm totally with you that whoever designed this was not informed, it's super dumb that Michaels house wasn't used and instead Laurie's from Ends was. If that weren't the case I may have bought this set!

Yeah, I was actually going to pick this up, went to a store that I'm sure had plenty, but only put one on the shelf. I almost thought it was ok, but then found a dent on one side. At that point, I instantly remembered what a hassle it was to find acceptable "Lord of the Rings"/"Hobbit"/"Rambo" tins and gave up. Not going through this again.

Maybe if they one day put more on the shelf and I happen to see one, but I'm not going to actively try to hunt for an undamged one. It's insane that so many of these are damaged.

Probably for the best, since I used Best Buy's mobile self-checkout for the first time and felt like a thief. Probably would've looked worse with that large set. I bought something else there, paid for it in the app, there was no security person at the front of the store, there was a line at checkout, and tracking down a BB employee defeats the whole purpose, so I walked out the door waiting for the security thing to start beeping. Nope.

I hear you with not going through this again. I finally ended up with an undamaged one, but it was a hassle to get it. My initial set I ordered arrived in a perfectly undamaged shipping box but when I opened it up the tin had a big dent on the front

so, it was packaged this way when it was shipped out, nice job Best Buy packing dept. Checking online I see that my local Best Buy has 2 in the store so off I go to return my damaged one and hopefully score one from the store that is mint. So after carefully checking the 2 they both appeared to be fine I purchase one and go out to my car where I open it before I leave just to make sure it is ok under the j-card. Well, sure enough, under the j-card there were several big scratches, so here we go again, back into Best Buy I go to return the one I just purchased and tell them I'd like to exchange it for the last one they have which the woman had no problem with after I showed her the scratches. So yes, I ended up with a perfect one but not without going through a hassle to get it. I hope Best Buy doesn't release any more of these sets that I feel I must have because it isn't worth the aggravation to get a mint one.

I had the same issue with shipping but, thankfully, the second one they sent was mint. Normally I don't have issues with Best Buy when it's regular steelbooks but they just can't seem to get their act together with large sets like this one. Every one I've bought from them has had to be returned at least once.

Well I got mine in the mail today, the case has no dents, however the steelbooks for part 1 and 2 have paint chips and part 2 also has a scratch on the bottom of the front plate. Part 3, that SteelBook is pristine even though you know the movie was....

Just drove a little more than a hour to grab the ISPU I placed yesterday and unfortunately mine also has a small dent in the front at the very top where it meets with the top of the case. I decided to keep it since it was the only one they had left and I really don't feel like driving another hour to a different store to try my luck again. If Best Buy does decide to drop physical media then this may just be one of the last things I ever buy from them.
