But i saw it on satellite in the 90's

I was going to leave out anime, but must mention 2 gateway series: Sailor Moon & Ronin Warriors (which was an 80s show but was dubbed into English & syndicated in the 90s)

C.O.P.S. is a 80's cartoon for sure, best thing about it was it's opening.

The gateway for me was Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki OVA and Tenchi Universe TV series on Toonami. Which then exploded into watching GITS, Akira, Eva etc
