I have no idea on the DualSense. I am playing on Xbox. The game is okay so far. (On Chapter 2.) My only 2 issues are that the stealth is still super basic. But at least it’s not based on your character level. And I don’t like that it basically completely rips off SoulsLike combat. Not sure why every game HAS to have SoulsLike combat now.

Ya know what I did yesterday to find out that it doesn’t have adaptive triggers?
I went on YouTube and looked for someone selling a physical copy. They show a picture of the front AND the back of the box. On the back of the box, it only reads, “vibration function supported”, where as of it had what I wanted it would read, “vibration function and trigger effect supported” (like God of War Ragnarok and Last of Us Part I and Dead Space and Deathloop and Callisto Protocol etc etc) . About 14 hours in. Been taking my time, this should be an easy platinum. I’m enjoying the hell out of it. Looks great and runs great in performance. Only time it hasn’t was attempting to do the stay in combat for 10 min trophy me and one enemy circled each other and it was night and there were tons of npcs around and there was some screen tearing but that is the only time that’s happened. Would love if they could do a hybrid of the old and new creed games and the sweet spot would be hit.

I’m going to be the voice on the other side of the spectrum. After putting another 5 or 6 hours into the game, I’m afraid I have to say I’m finding it to be severely disappointing. At this point, it’s making me want to just go back and replay the older games in the series rather than continuing forward.
The combat quickly wears out its welcome. As it tries to almost entirely copy the SoulsLike formula for combat (down to button mapping, game mechanics, etc.), but it does so in such a basic and boring way. There is none of the nuance and finesse found in a FromSoftware game. Or even what you would find in some of the clones, like Jedi: Fallen Order or Nioh or Lies of P. It feels almost clumsy. I got the achievement for staying in open conflict for 10 minutes by killing all but one enemy from a group and then circling and dodging till it popped. And it was easy, because the enemy only had two different attacks that were obviously telegraphed. When it comes to the stealth kills, I’m not sure if I can properly explain it, but they somehow just don’t feel… satisfying. It’s also extremely confusing, because even going all the way back to the first game, if you initiated a stealth kill out on the street, your controlled Assassin would perform a subtle lethal stab, so that you could keep on walking and get lost in the crowd. In this game, Basim will make it easily visible that he’s killing someone every single time you perform a stealth kill and any citizens in the vicinity will immediately scream bloody murder and run to report you to a guard. The city is okay, and the visuals are quite nice, but at the same time, everywhere looks exactly the same. So much so that you’ll be forced to constantly open your map to figure out where you’re going and making sure to drop navigation markers. The game also uses a weird compass mechanic to direct you towards collectibles and events rather than just showing them on your map. Which wouldn’t be so bad if there wouldn’t be so many icons piled on top of one another at any given point that you can’t tell which icon you’re traveling towards. Lastly, the story, so far, is not particularly strong or all that interesting past the opening hour or so. Basim is likable enough as a character and it’s definitely refreshing to see an emphasis being put back on the actual Assassin’s. But the rather cliche story with a “faceless” order on the trail of a MacGuffin certainly does not make up for all of the game’s faults. This was promoted as a return to the series roots. While it does go back to focusing on the Assassin’s Order and the bloated RPG aspects of the last few games has been removed, it only resembles the classic games in the most basic form. Yes. You perform assassinations. Everything else feels and controls like Valhalla except with undercooked SoulsLike combat and confusing map navigation. I’m not trying to be overly negative, but this comes off as a game that UbiSoft put barely any effort into making, simply so they could say, “Look! We tried to give you a Classic-Style Creed game like so many people were asking for and none of you really cared.” Then go right back to business with their overstuffed RPGs. I am a game preserver guy.
Now I am hesitating buying Ac Mirage on PS5 (Launch Edition). I would like to ask do you have any information on whether it works offline from the ps5 disc out of the box or it needs some online updates need to download before I can play. Thanks for help! |

![]() Edit: If you're worried about a Call of Duty sort of situation where there is only 72mb on the disc, this definitely isn't one of those sort of deals. I booted up and played off disc content only for several hours. Last edited by Nunab18; 10-10-2023 at 09:54 PM. |

And then I start hearing about games like HogLeg (Hogwart's Legacy) absolutely requiring a large update to be playable for the main game, which is ridiculous, though I think the packaging reveals "Internet connection required for download" or something. But how many people would know that when pre-ordering a disc game online? I agree that it's really awful when we get a broken mess of a game like Cyberpunk on disc (December 2020) for PS4 (though I got a full refund for that one and they let me keep the disc too). But yes, sadly the respect disc media used to get from developers and publishers is fading as games aren't completed onto the disc, but still in progress.... This game, 49.99, that's a nice price but makes me wonder how complete the game is without an update? |

I'm considering buying this but would like some advice from fellow assassins.
I vowed to stop playing AC games after Odyssey. I don't like the direction the franchise went after Origins. It turned into a historical war simulator rather than a stealth type deal. My favourite ones are 2,Black Flag and Unity (I played this well after it came out and all the problems were fixed by then). Mirage looks more like the earlier games I like but, can anyone confirm if it's more like 2 (which I hope it is) or 3 (which I hope it isn't). |

After finishing Hogwarts Legacy, i just started playing this (on PS4). Put a couple of hours in so far, definitely feels like a shift after the last few AC games (which i loved). I do love these desert city environments though. Origins is my favourite AC game.

Took me a good while to fully get into this, it feels and plays quite different from the previous 3 games. I'm still not a fan of the combat and find it a bit too tricky, combined with a lack of being able to level up. I also find the missions screen quite convoluted and confusing ha ha. Just lots of icons popping up here and there on that screen. Hard to tell what is what IMO.
The game as w hole has definitely clicked a bit more me now. I've put about 15 hours in and i'm enjoying it quite a bit now. |

I just beat this, it's not good nor bad, very middle of the road, 6 out of 10. but it's the kind of mindless checklist game for my current mood
the last AC game i played was Origins (2017) which was awesome, but made me not want to look at another AssCreed in while, this one isn't as bloated and it didn't overstay its welcome, but by no means a 'small' game, still took me a couple of weeks to beat it |
