They've had a couple before, like The Three Colors trilogy, and the Budd Boetticher/ Randolph Scott (Ranown Westerns) Collection.

Blood Simple is a Janus Films title, licensed directly from the Coen Brothers.

Carlotta in France, who are frequent David M/Fim collaborators are going blu-ray only for the App Trilogy in December, so we'll have to see how big an improvement Criterion 4K SDR transfers will be over FiM encodes on blu-ray using the same masters.

Criterion's site filter must be busted. It doesn't include those two in the UHD filter.

I have it on vinyl, but it would be really sweet if the "more" listed in the Trainspotting supplements was the soundtrack (vol 1 and/or 2) on CD.

Been a while, but we can finally cross another off this list. Just Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid, O Lucky Man, Captain Blood, and The Roaring Twenties left. Roaring should be coming this year, as George Feltenstein, from WAC, confirmed it's in the works (didn't say it was Criterion, but I think that's likely given the list).

In case it wasn't posted yet: Bunch of titles were recently listed as discontinued on WB's press site. Some of them already released by Criterion (Being There, Mildred Pierce, Pan's Labyrinth etc.), and the rest of the list is definitely something that Criterion would love to bring into their fold.

That's a three run homer of a month IMHO. I will be picking up the 4K titles and the Akerman set either via a Criterion 50% off Flash Sale or Barnes and Noble 50% off month long sale.

A grand slam month for me is every title released on 4K.

Stellar start to 2024, especially after the news of Best Buy getting out of the physical media game.

Holy sh*t, probably the best month ever by Criterion. Watched Trainspotting again last year for the first time in a while and it's such a good movie. Blood Simple has always been of my favorite movies and in for Lone Star since I'm a sucker for Texas films.

This has to be the best January announcements list to date. Usually January is a slower month for Criterion before announcing huge releases. Apu Trilogy 4K collection is a total stunner must-own, Chantal Akerman box-set is a must-own, Trainspotting and Blood Simple on 4K? Lone Star 4K? Wow, what a month! The only one I'm not super excited about is Mudbound, I watched it on Netflix and thought it was just decent and it's not even 4K. Everything else is amazing. An incredible month for releases.

I see The Ranown Westerns as the last title in the list after Wings of Desire and Three Colors between The Power of the Dog and Time Bandits. 56 results for 4K Ultra HD filter.
