Usually I'd be miffed that there's no 1080p Blu included but I'm not selling my 4-disc 3D/2D Blu set - hell, I've still got the 4-disc DVD SE too - so I'm good. Will get the 4K collector's edition I think

All it says on the cover is "widescreen." Any word on the AR? I like the 16:9 framing but I'll still get the 4K regardless.

If we don't, it will only be a matter of time. Paramount's going to continue milking this title for all they can get in the following years to come.

Also going with the collector's edition.

Also don't really mind that it's 2 discs. Although certainly not getting rid of my current BD 4-disc set until I see the encode on the UHD. The encode on the BD really holds up well. Honestly a gorgeous disc.

Tempted by the collector's edition. But if it doesn't include extra features I might pass just so I don't have to deal with another giant box

Why does Amazon start with that dumb high price when every else starts lower...

Bullmoose $33.97 and Target $29.99. They will come down but what's the point.

I have Amazon gift cards but if I order at the higher price they will immediately debit the amount and I won't have the excess available for many weeks until i finally get the difference refunded back to my gift card balance.
This is one of my problems with Amazon since I use cash to buy gift cards to buy my physical media. With Amazon,I always have to lay out extra money upfront.Yes,the difference is credited back to my account when the price goes down, but it's still a nuisance. Plus,I've found if you try to use the extra credit put back to your account while it's pending, then the item, you've ordered may not have the full funds when it's finally ready to ship. They don't draw the money until just before it ships.I've had that happen twice to me where i then had to run out and get another gift card(and the minimum amount for a gift card is $25.00) to cover like the 3 or 4 dollars it now says I'm short.

For example I have The Last Voyage of The Demeter that I pre-ordered with The Sandman Season 1.It says the Last Voyage is scheduled to arrive by Wednesday but it hasn't shipped yet and still says pending.

My current gift card balance is $43.09 but I'm afraid to use it since that's still pending until it ship between now and sometime tomorrow as well as having The Sandman and TMNT: Mutant Mayhem steelbook (which I pre-ordered on August 6) on pre-order.

What i do now is ignore the current balance It says I have until all the current things ship(after that, that amount is free to use) and just buy a gift card for something new as if I don't have any credit built up. It's a pain in the butt.

This is one reason why Best Buy was my first to choice to pre-order from(if it was significantly cheaper at Amazon and Target,I would get it there) and why I'm unhappy about the online store also not selling physical media come early the new year.Best Buy I also have free shipping which i don't with Amazon & Target. And with Walmart,I have no Walmart close to me anymore(the one down the street to me closed two years ago due to the rent being raised very high) and you can only buy Walmart gift cards in Walmart stores where the other retailers, you can purchase everywhere.I only get physical media from Walmart now if it's something that really entices me like their Meg 2 steelbook because I have to go out of my way to get a gift card to pay for it.

Sorry to go OT but the above post really spoke to me in light of the Best Buy news.

Collector's Edition is very underwhelming to me. Where's the popcorn bucket? Where's the Cubic Zirconia reproduction of the Heart of the Ocean? All that paper stuff, and no portrait drawing of Rose, suitable for framing? Instead, we get menus and sheet music? Not even a miniature bumper sticker saying "I Brake for Icebergs"?

Sorry, I'm only willing to overpay for crappy useless paper junk when it's related to STAR TREK!

I'm predicting now, there will be lots of complaints that the outer case is too flimsy, resulting in creases running along the top or bottom edge; just like ST-TMP Big Flimsy Collector's Edition.

Hoping for a SteelBook. Keeping my 3-D set regardless.

One of our favorite films. When it was released on home video back in 1998, we attended a special gala event at a nearby video rental store (Banana Video). One of the store's regular customers was a prop guy for the film. He was also an avid prop collector and he loaned the store a bunch of props from Titanic for display. There were RMS Titanic plates and cups and silverware and other goodies, all stuff that was used during the filming. Out in front of the store was one of the motor cars used as a prop in the film (the one Jack & Rose made love in).

The car was LEFT hand drive and the license plate was printed mirror backwards. Of course, as it appeared in the film, the car was RIGHT hand drive and the license plate read correctly. For those who don't know, this article and video explains why:

https://fstoppers.com/bts/clever-way...titanic-430727

Anyway, the video store also had a limited number of litho prints for sale, direct copies of the nude Rose sketch that was used in the film. The prop guy was reportedly friends with James Cameron and obtained Cameron's permission to make copies of the sketch. If I recall correctly, he had about two dozen copies made. We purchased one of them that night and it still hangs in our living room/theater room.

If it was THE original sketch, it would be worth a crazy amount of money. As it is, I have no idea what it is worth. Not that it matters, I would never sell it.

Over the years, I've seen other copies for sale (you can find them on eBay right now). But when I look close, I can tell that they are hand-drawn copies, not direct copies. Some of the hand-drawn copies are pretty good, but there's always some little detail I can spot that isn't quite right.

At any rate, despite the fact that I've backed away from collecting movies on disc (preferring to just go with digital purchases due mostly to the lack of shelf space), the 4K Blu-ray of Titanic is most certainly one I will add to my collection. After all, it's one of our favorite films!

Mark

I agree. I have zero faith they strengthened the box to prevent the crease situation from repeating.
As for Steelbook -- paramount has a staggering almost 80 UHD titles with SteelBooks already with the Star Treks likely coming next year and for sure Titanic will get one.

And also keeping my Titainic 3D!! -- which I just saw for the first time 2 months ago. Um... I was busy!
