To be honest I find the standard of the 90's to be higher than this decade. A mediocre 90's film is generally a ton more enjoyable to me than a mediocre film made now a days, but maybe that's just me.

Coming to America 2 wasn't just mediocre, it was practically an offense to film itself in my view. It was just that bad...

What's surprising is that this is after Eddie Murphy had a really strong comeback into comedy with Dolemite is My Name the year before. That movie was really fun (wish we'd get a home release of it). I can only assume Coming to America 2 must have been a paycheck job. I hope Beverly Hills Cop 4 gets the Dolemite is My Name level of care.
